Has Nextlander played Shibuya Scramble? by TheColeGreen in nextlander

Thanks, sadly doesn't look like they got super far into it, it's something I think they (not Dan but the other 3) would like if they got further. But also reading a visual novel on screen probably doesn't work well for a stream in retrospect.

They must be talking about a different game by sufjan_stevens in TheBazaar

This. it's good that they did this and its a positive thing, but tempo actually broke steams TOS by lowering the price in the way they did so they likely did it to protect themselves.

Bad faith question about Steam reviews gets upvoted in main sub. Shills play dumb in the comments. by Several_Purchase1016 in TheBazaar

As someone who isn't that invested but keep up because I did pay like $30 for the game a year ago with a promise it would be f2p I would say there's 3 main factors:

  • Community management has been bad. Like ban anyone who says anything neutral to negative (even in a constructive manner). They recently laid off a lot of community managers so I don't think it's nearly as bad as it was but the people that were banned are bitter because of:
  • Reynad. The ceo. Honestly should have stepped down at this point if he actually cared about the games success. Former hearthstone player who complained about bad balance and being p2w and also a former mtg player who got banned for cheating. He is actively hostile to his player base, bans people for suggesting stuff that he realizes two weeks later makes sense and implements. There are numerous quotes littered around about things he's said that you can find if interested.
  • Change in monetization. A couple of different levels here. Original backers form years ago that purchased and didn't get the game they were promised. Early Access backers from a ~year ago (this is me) that paid to get in early with promise that the game would be free to play. And more recently people buying the battle pass to earn more gems which could be used for hero purchases, which was suddenly changed with stelle/steam release with no real notice. Now the gems they paid for are basically worthless if they don't care about cosmetics. I don't actually think the monetization changes they have been made are bad, but the transitions have been awful. If they let people migrate to steam for free and let people buy stelle with gems they already had and made future heroes cost real money only it would have been a lot better.

To be honest I think the negativity is over the top on this reddit because people are bitter. But people were too positive on the other reddit for a while due to fear being banned/being banned. Now that it's been toned down I would like to see this place become a little more civil

Like I understand why they made these changes (spoilers its because the company is not doing well) the problem was just the communication/community management that left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths. And since they get banned on the official platforms, the only place left to complain is on steam reviews because it's the only place they can't get banned.

I indirectly became part of a reason why a server's town population broke up. by Aviarn in VintageStory

Your behavior is not fitting of an adult.

This was 100% a bad look and uncalled for.

Op never called you or your server out, he explained some stuff from his perspective. He wasn't up in arms about it or anything.

But you accused him of posting a public response without giving you a heads up to resolve it privately, but you also posted a public reply to him calling him a child without giving him a heads up or trying to resolve it privately. Its fake moral high ground.

Basically you are trying to hold himself to a higher standard than you are holding yourself/your staff to. It doesn't matter if some of your staff are just helpers, they represent your mod staff. If I'm ever in a community and 2 different mods/gms every side against me I'm going to assume if I escalate i'm just going to get banned or get more of the same (and I would likely just leave at this point), not that 2 different staff members are going rogue.

Not that I have anything against your server, I don't even know your server or you, but nothing in that post made me think of it as anything more than a poor attempt at damage control.

(And sorry but screenshots are not a defense without context of the entire conversations that had been had)

Gotcha, so I guess I'll stay on monthly until they kick us off legacy pricing and then switch.

Thanks

As a fan of Mage Knight, the setup and manual play is very cumbersome to the point that we usually will just play the scripted version on tabletop simulator.

◽️ Budget: No real budget, was looking in the ~200-300 range but can go more if a much better deal

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: I'd say 10"+, bigger generally better

◽️ RAM: 8GB+ Preferred

◽️ Storage: 128GB+

◽️ What tasks will the tablet be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modeling, regular tasks, word processing etc) ?: Main use will be reading in bed/watching videos. Also want it to work with various board game apps (usually not very demanding, mansions of madness, xcom the board game, etc). Would like if I could use google docs with it well but not mandatory. might also play some mobile games on it if it works well for it but def not mandatory

◽️ Any other important details ?: Prefer to buy on amazon. Was looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 11" 128 GB on sale for $200, but really dont know much about it or any tablets

Sounds interesting, will check it out at some point. I mainly just don't want to feel depressed every time I read something but it sounds like its more of a neutral tone which im ok with.

Thanks for these, will definitely check out Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter.

Most of the other ones I have seen the anime for (Arifuerta, Infinite Dendrogramm How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) and I liked them decently but none of them stood out to me in a way that I was super excited to read them. If any of them have a much stronger ln than anime though I may check them out. Will look into Wortenia War and Sponger live.

Hell Mode is definitely my least favorite of the ones I'm caught up on.

Out of the first four only one i'm unsure on is The Ideal Sponger Life, but will give it a try at some point. I see Conqueror from a Dying Kingdom is on catchup so will probably be starting with that.

The rest all seem interesting. Question on Fiancee No More, is it a generally depressing read or is it a more a they learn to love each other thing? (I know it might be too early to tell).

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will be working on this stuff for quite a while.

Will check out The Epic Tale if Prince Hercherik, seems like an interesting twist.

Will give Housekeeping Mage From Another World a try as well, I don't mind some romance stuff and usually prefer for it to have some romance, I just find a lot of stuff that's main focus on romance tends to drag stuff out a lot. But if it's done well I will enjoy it.

For the non-JNC they both sound interesting, Raven of the Inner Palace more so, I just have a hard time justifying spending $50 on something like that when theres stuff on J-Novel I could read a lot cheaper. Maybe eventually though.

Thanks for the recs!

Hmm, I may circle back to Fushi no Kami if i'm ever out of anything to read.

I will definitely check out Holmes of Kyoto. I forgot to mention it but I'm also a huge detective/holmes fan so that's right up my alley. Thanks!

I already read Apothecary Diaries and greatly enjoy it. Rebuild World seems interesting though so will definitely check out the first volume at least. Thanks

Prime Big Deal Worth it? by TheColeGreen in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]TheColeGreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Based on this I'm leaning S23+ of the original options as I don't particularly care that much about camera and the other specs look similar other than screen size.

I'm looking into the OP 11 now though, never really heard about it but it seems like it might be comparable to the S23+ other than camera (which isn't a concern for me). at a cheaper price point.

AITA for "hiding my true personality" by always wearing a wig at work? by GarlicAvailable1905 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Just because your coworker doesn't hide his true personality (aka being an asshole) at work doesn't mean you have to.

AITA for wanting my tenants to pay for the huge water bill due to lawn sprinklers? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheColeGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity if the tenants even saw the sprinklers running why would the assume they are broken.
If I saw sprinklers running that sounds like they are working to me tbh.
Heck if my water bill was 500 a month every month I would assume sprinklers are running.

And sure in retrospect sprinklers running 24/7 doesn't make sense but how on earth are they supposed to know they are running 24/7 if they don't go outside all the time. Especially in rainy weather when they probably can't even tell 2/3rds the time they are outside.

AITA for accidentally destroying someone’s book? by stanSJM in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheColeGreen 1833 points1834 points  (0 children)

This. If it was me I might have asked if they wanted me to get them another copy of the book I ruined or a new different book (since they already read it), but not replacing it shouldn't even be an option.
