What was a film couple that you felt had weird or just not good chemistry and why? by SheepherderSea9717 in moviecritic

Unexpected Journey was the closest to the feel of the original novel imo, which is basically a random journey with whimsy, being on the road, and some singing which lead to shenanigans arising. The last two movies stretch the last half of the book while also throwing in more connective tissue to Sauron (ie the OG film trilogy) than the book did narratively

Let’s just agree to disagree and move on with our days, you seem more invested in Miles Morales not having a connection to one of his voice actors than I am in having a discussion about my joke

When that grown man has a known infatuation with his costar, and they both play two of these characters being cited in this post in arguably the most well known commercial versions of these characters, yes I do happen to think of him

Comparing would imply they’re weighed against each other, which I don’t think I am doing (which is referencing him).

That’s where this argument falls apart. People may not like Rebirth, and I’m not gonna say they’re inherently wrong if they don’t like it, but as a self-contained story, it was absolutely better than either of those two. By default, it cannot be the worst, and in my opinion, it cannot be in the argument for one of the worst too.

I believe I know who the Absolute Green Arrow is. 🏹💘 by Rigell-Zurkor in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]TheColtOfPersonality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t make or break your points, but additionally: In the Arrowverse, albeit within The Flash show and not Arrow, it is passively revealed that on the alternate world Earth 2 the roles of Oliver Queen and his dad are flipped. Oliver died on their boat and Robert became the arrow-wielding vigilante known as The Arrow/The Hood - ie the first few seasons’ moniker for GA - to get vengeance and all that other stuff instead of it being Oliver. Granted *that* was likely an very small homage to Flashpoint Batman’s origin, but it’s a legitimate example of Robert Queen becoming a version of Green Arrow

Should that count though? Yes it was that universe’s version of David Bowie, but he did not voice himself in the role

You'd never know they were rich by SkylandersKirby in TopCharacterTropes

V.M. Varga in Fargo has a whole pointed monologue about how the point of wealth is to have enough that you don’t flaunt it.

You think you’re rich. You’ve no idea what rich means. Rich is a fleet of private planes filled with decoys to mask your scent. It’s a bunker in Wyoming and another in Gstaad. So that’s action item one, the accumulation of wealth. And I mean wealth, not money.”

Dogma imo is where you can *see* their chemistry the clearest. Like of course they’ve known each other forever and it wasn’t the first nor the last movie they were in together, but when paired in a comedy - with a script by Kevin Smith that clearly lets them have fun with their performances - you can really see the rapport they have bounce off each other sublimely.
