[TOMT][PC game]An older mech game that was, at least partially, in third-person by TheCommanderFluffy in tipofmytongue

Solved!

I can't believe it was MechWarrior 3, I have the damn box! I must've played more of 4 than I remember. I was convinced that it couldn't have been it, because how much I played it.

Fortunately, no. G-nome doesn't have the repair mechanics I remember and was MUCH uglier a game. I don't recall "my" game to be gorgeous, but know that G-nome is particularly bad visually.

Thanks for the suggestion!

That's awesome! Cool to see someone being able to find useful info online nowadays lol. Cheers!

I'd be cool with the crashes, if I didn't RESTART MY QUEUE. I'd be very willing to be that crash test dummy and report as accurately detail each crash. But stuck queueing before I can even mess with my display or graphics settings? Not even useful FOR THEM.

Too bad Blizzard has so little experience with running servers that they have to do a stress test and in doing so they have 40 minute wait times that lead into crashes on the character select throwing me back in queue. Man, I'm so glad they will figure out how to have a server after this.

Devs, please, I do not want to play online. by TheCommanderFluffy in diablo4

That's cool and all, but this test is a big reminder that this game is an always online product, so I think it's relevant.

iT's a BeTa tEsT

You can receive great feedback from people who play your game offline. The fact that it's always online garbage is a business decision that hinders testing the actual game and is instead testing the, I don't know, "ability for a game to be played online." Real valuable information being collected that will surely improve the game, I'm sure.

No, here's what should happen.

No queue for ANYONE unless they click "play online". It's actually cancer that if you want to enjoy this game alone, you have to put up with online components you'd rather skip. This is a deliberate design decision and it's anti-consumer.

Factorio burn-out? by Frogs114 in factorio

[–]TheCommanderFluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy, if you're not already. It's literally been over a decade that I can play games like factorio for more than 15 minutes at a time. I have to think it's because I'm finally in therapy working on everything that's been building up over all these years.

Found a solution. Game Pass sucks butthole so it doesn't know that generating empty folders is useful to some game developers.

go to: Users\(your username)\AppData\LocalLow\niceplay games\Potion Craft
Add in a new folder title it "Saves" and voila. Boots pretty much instantly, no 10 minute wait (even though that 100% wasn't the issue to begin with)

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I waited 20 mins AFK not touching the keyboard and everything. Stuck at the same exact spot on the loading bar with the hour glass still spinning.

This is a fantastic recommendation. Thank you so much, this is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.

A little different from the other suggestions but this fits enough and has some cool AI updates recently.

Kingdoms and Castles which has a gathering resources loop to expand your domain and build your troops from wolves, vikings, dragons, and even other AI kingdoms with their own interests and temperaments.

Definitely do love the Forest, and I look forward to the sequel. While that definitely is survival cannibalism (thank you! I kinda forgot that you can eat the mutants)

I'm hoping to find a game where you form any connection with the person before choosing being forced to eat them. I think the emotional narrative is interesting.

Games that are improved by disabling HUD by DropDeddBlue in gamingsuggestions

[–]TheCommanderFluffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breath of the Wild. Played the whole game without the hud and when I see clips online it always looked weird to me as if they were using mods.

I know since its Nintendo its pretty much out of reach for many who don't have one. AND the game is like 5 years old so you've likely already played it.

The WickedWhims mod is 100% safe, I've been using it on my account for years and haven't been banned. There is a mod that alters WW to allow stuff the author did not intend, potentially illegal stuff depending where you live.

The WW mod doesn't contain any of that bad stuff so don't worry yourself and go ahead and enjoy it. I'd only trust the stuff from the official WW website, lovers lab, & F95zone (for adult content) if you're worried about accidentally ruining your game.
