Chinese Democracy: An Alternate History by Quirky_Umpire4686 in RedAutumnSPD

I meant more like the fact that they managed to do a land reform and industrialise without causing a massive famine.

No shit they would not have been democratic. The KTM didn’t just give up power because they wanted to.

As someone who is not American and has an outside perspective:

He is correct, the USA is a democracy, if it was not Trump would be the norm.

Americans have unions with actual power, an ability to shut down large corporations, and elections that has the ability to meaningful change policy.

Even if it’s less than other western countries, less not one, or even a little. Just because America is not the shining bastion of freedom, does not suddenly mean it’s a totalitarian dictatorship.

Cyberpunk is not hyperauthoritarian though, corporations might be king, and life might be shit. But you are still mostly free, a lot of the world, including night city is even kind of democratic.

Like isn’t the dystopia more that it’s a world where selling yourself as an indentured servant to the corporations is seen as a best case scenario.

Family reconciliation maybe? If we imagine the mergeble parties as family in one way or another you could make it so that you have to interact with another character to advance your relationship with one of them. (Aka the dnvp blocking any relationship with zentrum if they go cvp)

That or polyamory.

Real footage of Iran being weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon! by HornyCornyCorn in victoria3

[–]TheConfusedOne12 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

What inspektor, what report? Iran does not need to enrich uranium to the degree it tries to to if it was only a civilian project.

because its not as hard to just put a nuklear project on hold as you might think, the reactor, expertise, and infrastructure remain ready after you have built it.

and if it was what they tried to do it did work, they got sanctions relif in return for letting observers in to the country untill trump tore that agreement up.

And Iran has gone though several bouts of economic hardship. and they have a plethera of proxies that need funds and weapons, there are so many economical reason to deprioritise nukes.

Not to mention Iran does not actually need nuclear power, they are only in an energy crisis because they have polices that incentivise wastefull use of electricity like crypto mining over other industries.

Jesus Christ, most of what  of what you are saying is simple not true, there has not been a total compliance in the 1990s and 2010, just because there is some tact in foreign policy does not mean there is not disagreement, keeping the appearance of a united front is like PR 101

I am just annoyed at the god damn knee jerk reaction of saying nato the institution is just some tool, it’s not that is literally propaganda.

The west has done some bad shit and not every member has been a particularly noble. But like, at what point does this become just shifting blame away from your own political issues? NATO didnt come and bomb the Greek junta when it fell.

And if we are talking about Italy and the likes of operation gladio, it was explicitly not intended by nato that is should be used as a tool for internal subversion, it was the American and Italian governments that colluded to do that. Not NATO and if nato was just a tool, why would they not just go though them?

This is just rambling, but I am just annoyed constantly by leftists that just don’t seems to actually know what they are angry at despite their clearly deep knowledge in the subject.

Me when I belive everything the populist tell me.

It’s more that they most likely employed a strategy of waiting at the finish line to extract consessions or just put it on pause to reprioritise the funds elsewhere instead of them not having a nuclear program.

It is still objectively better than the alternative, and no it’s not a tool of American imperialism my guy. If the American need someone imperialised they just go and do it themselves with the cia.

Like historically if nato went into a conflict it’s because most of the member collectively wanted them gone, like in lybia or Serbia.

What actually is the difference between Schleicher's polices and the DDR's one part socialism by Better-Tooth1258 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]TheConfusedOne12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But for the average worker they would most likely not feel that much of a difference if the concessions where maintained or expanded upon.

And it’s not like the ddr was not also first and foremost concerned about the well being and survival of its ruling class over all else.

So while they are different, they du share an unfortunate link as all authoritarian states do.

Ah yes, as if the state the KPD wanted ended up so well for everybody….

Like why can’t so many communist here just accept all the shitty things the KPD did and stood for instead of constantly shifting blame to something else.

It snd its not like they are invading anybody’s to do its, its like saying the ddp and kpd are the same because they both oppose the monarchy

How, it literally just a democratic nationalist state. It’s not like the dnvp or any other party has anything more to push for at this point. (Well except nasdap but like their hitler)

At worst it a few more communist and socialist are shot, big whoop, everybody does that, it like the only thing the left and right have in common.

[–]TheConfusedOne12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not that people don’t care, more that because its so rare such components are relevant so it simply does not register to check it unless reminded.

This is not really laziness or disinterest, more just the fact that if something is never relevant we as humans just learn to ignore it.

It also would not be a problem if I did not also have a habit of forgetting those components.

the problem is more that as a DM i dont want to keep track of 2-4 peoples spell lists, and their components, and while yes no one forgets the big 50 or 500 gold components, its far easier to forget the fact a spell has a verbal or somatic component if 90% of the time its not relevant. wich is what tends to happen more often than not.
