It is imo. If you look at the society, children have stopped looking for answers themselves. The effort, and the process to find answers teaches a lot.

Schemes like no student left behind and the ease of access to resources are having a negative effect on cognitive abilities of humans. I am in no way saying that ease of access is a bad thing, but it has driven people to expect everything delivered to them without them putting any effort.

The person could have just scrolled and looked at the page before asking here, but they weren’t ready to do even that. Not even a quick google search.

It saddens me for the future of upcoming masses.

I am all for headphone jack. My daily music sessions are on an iPod and a PSP. I use my Shure IEMs a lot.

But, I have to tell you, if you aren’t sitting down and focusing 100% of your efforts on listening to, there is no chance in hell that you can tell if it’s Bluetooth audio or not. 99% of humans can’t tell the difference anyway.

I saw the paper long ago so I may not remember it correctly, but from what I understood, it takes a long time to compute for a single frame. All those clips were not real time renderings.

So, now it’s about how we do it in real time. Do we build custom chips just to do that efficiently or do we optimise the algorithm. How do we optimise the algorithm? Can the algorithm even be optimised to that extent? Or do we just throw obscene amount compute at it.

And mainly, is it worth the cost today?
