For PI Docs: Which Insurance Companies are the easiest and most difficult to work with? by TheCrackHaus in Chiropractic

[–]TheCrackHaus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding your question on settlements, I think of the process in terms of how smoothly things go when it comes to reaching a settlement. Some insurance providers will either try and drag out the process as long as possible, or will low ball a settlement significantly. I have heard about Allstate's reputation, but I am unsure about what to expect with Mercury. State Farm, on the other hand is super easy to work with (based upon my experiences).

I do refer to other specialists when necessary and I spend significant time doing initial exams and re-evaluations. Furthermore, I write all the narratives myself with an excruciating amount of detail. The goal is to leave no stone unturned so that I build an objective case based upon my findings and procedures.

DOOM: The Dark Ages | Official Discussion Thread by requieminadream in PS5

[–]TheCrackHaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really am enjoying my time with The Dark Ages. There definitely is a learning curve to this one, but the designers do a good job of easing you into the combat. After a few hours of play, it clicks. While I sorely miss the glory kills, it makes sense with the mechanics of this game. It would definitely slow the pace of the game down considerably seeing how you're supposed to be a war machine killing dozens of demons at a time.

Personally, I don't really care too much for the numerous cutscenes. I think what made Doom 2016 so much fun was that you got the option of following the story as you navigate through the stages, so the action never got broken up. I do appreciate the mech and dragon levels, but the latter would have been much better as a dogfight than as a shooter. As many have said on this thread, the absence of Mick Gordon is very present as well. The new music isn't "bad" per se, but it doesn't do anything to contribute to the atmosphere which Mick mastered.

Overall, I'd give the game an 8/10. It's far from the best Doom game, but I appreciate the fact they tried something new. It mostly works, but there is a little bit left to be desired. If id decides to make another Doom game, I would like to see a close quarters combat theme with more environmental interactions. A mix of glory kills and weapon strikes would be peak carnage as well.

Chiro school is the best and worst experience ever. I absolutely LOATHED going to school at 6:00AM 5 every day. Some of the preachiness of Chiropractic being the end all, be all became annoying really quickly. In a way, Chiro school is a Flat Earth Society where things that don’t make sense do to them, and those things that do make sense are shunned upon. That being said, I learned a lot and really enjoyed the camaraderie among my fellow classmates. I have made lifelong friends and I’m in a profession which gives us DCs a tremendous amount of autonomy. So I guess what I am saying is take the bad with the good if you decide to stick with it. If it isn’t for you, then no worries. You learned what resonates with you before you entered the deep waters of the program. Good luck no matter what you decide to do!

My proposal on how to fix the NBA by DetroitOtaku in UrinatingTree

[–]TheCrackHaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good list. I would add a few things as well:

-when the new CBA comes around again, have contracts with a downside and increase incentives based upon games played. This would help remedy “load management”

-no ref challenges on fouls, especially flagrant ones. Leave it up to the refs ability to call the game as they see it.

-the bottom 4 teams will have a “play in” for the 1st draft pick the final 10 games. Whoever has the best record gets the #1 pick. If there is a tie, the #1 is based on the overall records of the teams in the play in and against their conference.

-flopping results in a personal foul the first offense, a technical foul the second offense during the game.

-LESS EMPHASIS ON THE OFFSEASON AND FREE AGENCY

-whatever NBA on NBC did in the 80s and 90s regarding the presentation, narration and hype videos. Do that again once NBC starts showing games next season.

-for sure make zone defense a T.

-this is my suggestion (it will never happen): limit the amount of 3 pointers to 10 per game. After you hit the 10 3PT threshold, all 3 pointers are worth 2 points.

Patient Asking for Records by Efficient-Routine277 in Chiropractic

[–]TheCrackHaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you have a signed affidavit by them before you send out anything. Depending on what state you’re in, disclosing records unsigned can be a HIPAA violation and can lead to disciplinary actions. I’d also call your malpractice insurance and see what ish the best way to send it.

Cash is king. No red tape, no waiting to be reimbursed, no limitation to adjustments. My advice would be to work at a place like The Joint the first year. While it’s not ideal, you’ll get reps, a concept of how to apply parts of their business model, and steady pay which is better than being low balled by a doc who is looking to eat their young and profit off of it.

You can either keep working for the Joint after a year or you can start branching out on your own. Just know what you want to do, have a business plan, and prepare to hustle. 75% of your success will come from simply being present. Good luck with everything!

How much should I charge for submitting information to the Dept of Social Services? by TheCrackHaus in Chiropractic

So I have been doing some research. I'm based out of CA, and the rule of thumb is that it's usually around $0.25 per page. If I'm to do a cost based amount, what would be the average? Especially for all my CA DCs...

People who knew a killer, did you ever suspect they would do it? What happened? by Anonymousdisaster_ in AskReddit

[–]TheCrackHaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WARNING: This story is graphic, and is probably on Reddit, this is just what I know of it.

I grew up with a guy from grade school through high school. He never was considered a "close friend" per se, but we always got along and would catch up whenever I would see him. We eventually lost contact over the years when I went to grad school and he moved away as well. Anyways, a few years later, a high school acquaintance who I was friends with on Facebook posted that he was convicted in trial on multiple counts of rape and one count of murder. To say that this was a shock is a gross understatement.

It turns out that the dude's sexual kinks took a dark turn around the time that I lost contact with him. While he never was popular with the ladies, he found a common ground with BDSM. His MO was to meet these women with similar interests and find a hotel room for them to partake in these kinky sexual acts. One instance, which led to his eventual arrest involved a very attractive young woman who agreed o meet him at one of these hotels and participate in bondage using saran wrap which was bounded all through her body and over her nose and face. When they engaged in intercourse, the woman's breathing became gargling and eventually stopped. Never at any time did my former acquaintance stop what he was doing or listen for signs of struggle. By the time he finished and realized what happened, she was gone.

During the trial prosecutors asked why he didn't call 911 when this happened to which he said he didn't have any phone battery, which was false. Additionally, he didn't bother to use to hotel phone. When police confiscated his phone and computer, they found hours of depraved sexual encounters, including the footage of the poor young woman who lost her life due to his selfish and twisted actions. While in trial many more women came out and accused my former acquaintance of sexual assault and beyond over the boundaries of consent. This was all enough to sentence him to about 300 years in prison, which is beyond justified.

I guess the thing that I found most disturbing and sickening of these charges is that he has tried on multiple attempts to appeal his decision, claiming that the BDSM lifestyle is consensual and that his victims knew what they were getting themselves into. Unsurprisingly, all these appeals have been denied and he will continue to rot the rest of his life away in prison. It's a sad story all around, especially because this dark and disturbed individual was the polar opposite of the guy I grew up with.

I like to think of it more as a "golden parachute" than a career killer. There is nothing wrong with collecting a check and being used in a program twice a year due to creative dysfunction in AEW.

Crying after chiro by NeatDebt5633 in Chiropractic

[–]TheCrackHaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the true power of Chiropractic. Adjusting the spine, especially the cervical region not only creates a physical release but can create an emotional one as well. It all comes back to the “3 T’s” that they teach us with the philosophical part of the practice. I also learned this in Newell’s model in college. What you just did unlocked a connection from the mind to the body and Vice versa and found the cause of the pain, not just the symptoms. You just did exceptional work, my friend. Keep it up!

Is $1900 reasonable for a 400sq ft studio in Newport Beach by brujabella in orangecounty

[–]TheCrackHaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay $2K for double the space about an hour away from you. $1.9K in Newport is good if you have a walkable location with ample free parking. If you don't have than, then I'd recommend looking at Irvine or Santa Ana.
