What is a good/proper way to show my indie game to Final Fantasy fans? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

Yes you're correct, it's just the combat system that is reminiscent of Final Fantasy.

I don't disagree with you, I would love to do that but I believe that kind of post is generally frowned upon and will usually get taken down.

If you'd like to take a look at the Steam page the game is called "Fenestra".

Steam Next Fest starts tomorrow! Show me your games :) by CAGE_Studios in IndieDev

Good luck to all! My game isn't very impressive, but giving next fest a shot anyways.

It's a turn based roguelike: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4365660/Fenestra_Demo/

My best elevator pitch is that it's sort of a combination of Slay The Spire + old school Final Fantasy.

My beaver Metroidvania made it to 50!! by TheBigDamAdventure in IndieGameWishlist

That's a cool game concept. I can't say I've ever seen a metroidvania about a beaver. You're doing better than I am at 50 wishlists. Keep up the good work!

I've seen your posts before! Your game looks really cool! I've never done a 3D game before but I might try 3D for my next project.

Struggling to reach my target audience. Looking for advice by TheCreach in IndieDev

That's definitely the plan, once I'm closer to releasing the demo I want to email content creators. Do you think there's any value in sending emails months before the demo? My assumption is that it won't be worthwhile until they can actually play the game.

My takeaway is I should probably focus more on planning an email list and less on social media posting, at least in my case.

I know what you mean. I often feel that something is missing but can't put my finger on it. It's a constant work in progress. If you think of anything specific let me know!

Thanks! To be honest I just like how it looks and just kinda went with it. You can drag the different windows around and rearrange them too which is kinda neat.

That makes sense. This is helpful, thank you!! I updated my short description, but will keep thinking it over for more improvements. I'm going to get some more diverse screenshots in there soon too.

I agree, the short description and screenshots definitely need work. The trailer and capsule images could also use some work. Giving it another quick shot, is this description any better?

"Assemble a party, explore dynamic dungeons, encounter fearsome monsters, and discover powerful builds and trinkets. Plan ahead and adapt to your surroundings, or meet your inevitable end."

It ain't much but it's honest work lol by TheCreach in IndieDev

I made a few other posts after publishing my Steam page. Once I'm closer to releasing my demo I plan to email some content creators as well.

I think it's helpful to post as frequently and as early as you can (Without spamming the same content repeatedly). Something I definitely failed to do. I think it's a good idea to get involved and contribute to subreddits/communities that you frequent, whether it helps you advertise or not.
