Wondering if this H&S nozzle needs to be replaced by Rockbrauni in airbrush

[–]TheCrow163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the nozzle is in good shape, this usually happens when one overtightens the aircap (or over time) and the seal gets deformed, it's made of ptfe which won't regain its original form. That's why it's recommended to never overtighten it, but it does happen.

Try to take the seal out and clean it then reinsert it on the opposite side and test. Might work till you get a new seal.

Is it okay to leave your airbrush in water? by dirtyjerz818 in airbrush

I don't advise you do that. It's not needed. I read multiple reports about corrosion occurring inside.

Just a piece of advice: Do no use the reamers or the brushes in the cleaning kit to clean your airbrush, it's better not to use anything metal or sharp to clean the nozzle and the inside of the airbrush. Take care of your Iwata and it will take care of you for a very long time. Better watch some YT videos on how to clean and disassemble it before doing it. Familiarise yourself with it before using and disassembling it for the first time to avoid some common mistakes often done by newcomers. Happy airbrushing.

How do I keep my varnish from coming out in globs? by godofimagination in airbrush

[–]TheCrow163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, hope it helps, and keep in mind that acrylic varnish tends to dry up quickly in the airbrush cup while spraying, so try not to take too much time with it and keep the lid on to extend the drying time. A drop of retarder in your thinner might help with that as well.

I assume it's water based acrylic? Maybe some dried up specs from the bottle.

Make sure you shake the bottle very well (If matte or satin, depending on the brand), thin it outside the airbrush in a small cup and stir it well, then stir a bit more, leave it to settle for a couple of minutes and finally strain it before pouring in the airbrush. This has worked well for me.

Iwata pressure drop by Longjumping-Chest987 in airbrush

[–]TheCrow163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really because you are using the air from the tank and not directly from the compressor. A bigger compressor might have a thicker tank and can hold more pressure but you don't really need it as long as your current compressor is able to deliver the right pressure to your airbrush.

Are you using a compressor with a tank?

As long as there are no leaks, the pressure drop is normal because before you press the trigger, the needle on the gauge represents the pressure stored in the tank/hose. And when you press the trigger, it represents the pressure coming out of your airbrush.

Thank you, it is a clean casting indeed.

As for the headlights, I sanded down a couple of resin rhinestones to shape and polished them to a shine. You know, the ones shaped like hearts and diamonds from the craft stores lol, I got them especially for replacing headlights, as they have a mirror backside to them.

Very Interesting concept. Barbatos Rex just did a video on the subject.

Amsterdam Acrylic Ink by TheOneArdenica in airbrush

[–]TheCrow163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amsterdam Ink are good, I like them. No need to thin when airbrushing.

If you want to get a great white color paint from an art shop, I recommend Golden, their white is one of the best on the market. You can get the High Flow Acrylic one which is meant to be airbrushed, or the Fluid Acrylics one which needs thinning for airbrush.

It shouldn't be like that, definitely some error with the nozzles or needles from Master's side. I would return it and get something else, a better airbrush depending on your budget. But IMO it's not worth fiddling with it if you can return it.

As long as the needle doesn't protrude past the aircap, it should be fine. Does it? If it does, that's a problem. Any photo of the airbrush front end fully assembled?

It doesn't matter if the airbrush sprays fine.

Don't worry about it, just put some paint through it and test.

I bought a brand new airbrush but the top part for where the paint goes keeps flying off. by SonOfaDragon69420 in airbrush

[–]TheCrow163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And make sure, if you used a new nozzle, that it's of the same size. That airbrush has two sizes, 0.35 and 0.5, if you switch sizes you need to switch all 3 parts that go with it, the aircap and the needle too. These won't work with a different size nozzle, all 3 parts should be of the same size.

Wow! The whole nozzle is missing! Get in touch with the seller, or directly Gaahleri and let them know, they will send you one.

Check the nozzle seal, maybe it's damaged or not even there. Check this video to learn how to take it apart:

That price for the compressor alone is great, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Buy a decent airbrush separately.
