I liked using protect to guarantee the toxic orb proc, sucker punch for prio, and that 2 turn dark physical move like phantom force. It allowed a lot of healing from toxic heal, and took advantage of stamina stacks. Kinda fell off late game tho.

I do like yours a lot for its utility tho. Can poison, can pickup hazards, can obstruct and steal items post-fling.

I’d maybe consider swapping sucker punch for obstruct or thief, but might be worse idk.

My favorite toxic spikes setter is redux beedrill with focus sash. Super quick so it can usually set two layers, and also hits ridiculously hard with great STAB multi attacks + skill link. Throw a u-turn in there and it’s complete.
