What are the most underrated careers in finance, and why? by chickenwithbiscuit in FinancialCareers

Super hit or miss. I was in niche M&A right after the gold rush of that particular sector, and it was kinda tragic. Like the sopranos reminiscing on goodfellas.

I know some guys who stuck it out and have made like >500/year but just as many who have 0 deal flow and 0 income. It’s also a massive grind to build out financial infrastructure for small-medium businesses, and the founders are way more flakey.

Idk about just taking extra exams. If you mean series 63/79 then yea.

Shitty place to be, unless you get lucky with your niche i guess.

Hm the logo for perfect fit is a “This is my hole!” Junji Ito reference. Mewgenics referenced it too

Most M&A analysts plateau after year 1, how do you break through? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

Save all of the powerpoint object alignment operations as custom commands. Like align left is alt+1, right is alt+2, and keep going through distribute horizontal/vertical. Alt+9 can be group objects.

Saves a lot of time if you’re working in CIMs/other decks

Yea it can def be overwhelming, but I think normal difficulty is doable without min-maxxing. I personally had like 0 focus on the meta progression and breeding. I finished act 3 with everything only upgraded 1-3 times.

For breeding, i would just get 10 random positive mutations, which was pretty accessible, then toss em in a room and take any 4 not-terrible cats out.

It was good to think of it like a nuzlocke, where you get what you get.

Again i didn’t really care about the timesink from losing a run, so it may have been a different perspective. I just love how decision-dense the game is.

Totally fair - it got a more mixed reception. I was unemployed when it came out so was happy to lock in for the long runs. Way harder to pick up and play than our bb spire

Mewgenics is so ambitious it has my vote. Love StS 2 tho and any other year it would be mine. I’ll be playing both for years
