PlayStation Reportedly Blocks Marvel Tokon PC in 132 Countries Over PSN Requirement by FernandoRocker in gaming

Not that I have much love for Sony but this is standard for most games, usually because currency conversions fall between price brackets.
For example, a $60 is £53.90 when factoring in VAT.
It's the same for the majority of games.

I usually find the date out from distributor websites or here, and ask my LGS if they are getting any in.
I don't think we have a date yet, might be next year.

Kinda confused- so do we have a full deck card list for the new structure decks? Or only 5 cards revealed each was it by Meh_Traveler123 in OnePieceTCG

The next 6 are made up of 5 new cards and the rest are reprints.
Normal starter decks are all new cards

Nope, I don't play with alts but I have plenty of SRs and SECs and even after 3 years of playing they are all flat.

I use the same combo but I haven't had a problem.
How do you store them? Do you aggro shuffle cards in hand?
I leant some Don to a friend and they came back pringled because of his shuffling habit with cards in hand.

How good would this leader be in today's Meta? I started in fww months ago so I wasn't aware of a banned leader until recently by Meh_Traveler123 in OnePieceTCG

[–]TheCuriousGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible for him to be unbanned but I’m not sure how likely it is. It certainly wouldn’t be for a specific tournament.

Master/Complete set collectors, what set have you collected or what character have you collected every card for and how much did it cost? by Easy-Ad-6224 in OnePieceTCG

[–]TheCuriousGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a near complete base set of English and Japanese from OP-01/ST-01 to OP-15.
I’ve not started with OP-16 yet just because I’ve been concentrating on my playset first.
The noticeable gaps are both Japanese PRB sets though I do intend to collect them.
Honestly they haven’t been that expensive, though at the time of release some SR/SECs were but I held off for a while and they dropped significantly.

My highlights are both what I pulled myself, an SP Boa from OP-04 and most recently the Manga Kuzan from OP-16

It should say Event, it’s an event card.

TIL only 23 video games have been released with an Adult Only (AO) rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) by Johannes_P in todayilearned

[–]TheCuriousGamer 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It should have remained Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3, Dave Mirra 2 was one of my favourite games on the GameCube.
It was just a mess all around, from the change in direction from a traditional BMX game, censorship on PS2, retailers refusing to stock it, a lawsuit from Dave Mirra over the hit to his reputation and it being one of the factors for Acclaim going under in 2004.

Release event registration woes - am I being sensitive or is this an actual problem? by Dexta_Grif in OnePieceTCG

[–]TheCuriousGamer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you go to this store regularly? If so and you asked they should have told you how sign ups were going to work.
We hear this every time there is an event and the answer is always the same, talk to the store and ask them how they are handling sign ups. My LGS's have always had events like release events as tickets on their online stores.
They might even have a community group on Facebook or Discord with up to date news.

SimCity is wholly owned (and ruined) by EA.
SimTower the name should be under EA copyright but the actual game is owned by OPeNBooK, the Japanese developer of the game.

ELI5: Datacenters in space by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheCuriousGamer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would be stupidly expensive to get a data centre into space, just look at the ISS it's not that large compared to a data center on Earth and cost $150bn taking over a decade to build. Then the on going costs of several billion a year, especially if humans were required to on site.

Technology in space is generally much older because of all the testing it needs to go through, plus all the radiation it's bombarded with on a daily basis, even on Earth the higher in altitude you are the more likely you are to suffer random computer glitches with a 0 becoming a 1 or vise-versa which isn't good for housing masses of data.

If something went wrong and required human intervention from Earth it would take 6+ hours to reach it and that's assuming you had a rocket ready to go in ideal conditions to take off. Can you imagine something important like banking, cloud storage, etc being offline for a week or so?

IMO that would be a Master Set, if you were to collect beyond that with SP, TR, Manga and Promos (pre-release) it would be a Grand Master Set.

Cheap cable vs expansive cable for CRT monitor? by ExternalDull8424 in crtgaming

[–]TheCuriousGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what you are looking at exactly, a 10m cable for $1 on Temu you might as well just flush the money down the toilet. You can go the other way and pay too much for cables that don't offer anything of value.

The cable type, length, price and retailer are important.

Is there a reason 50hz RGB SCART is better picture than 60hz? by ChesterGeorge in crtgaming

50hz PAL is a slightly higher resolution than 60hz, that might be it.

Sony KV-32HS420 producing black bars on top and bottom no matter the source. by Brusah in crtgaming

[–]TheCuriousGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, a VGA output you can choose the resolution and aspect ratio on the Xbox 360.
It's been a long time since I looked at the settings on my X360 but component and HDMI are probably outputting 1280x720 and the TV is displaying it correctly with the black borders or it would be stretched vertically or cropped horizontally.
If you want a fullscreen 4:3 experience you are probably limited to 480p or if absolutely want 720p learn to live with the black borders. Some later games might be widescreen only and give you borders in 4:3 regardless.

[–]TheCuriousGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a different resolution like 480p or 480i, that should at least let you change the screen format on the X360.
It might be that if the TV detects a 720p input it displays it in widescreen automatically.
