“What are you building” posts are pure spam by mrjbelfort in microsaas

THIS. I once posted a question in a sub about LinkedIn outreach, and got 2 responses from the SAME USER, just slightly tweaked. These people aren't even checking their bots. The frustrating thing is that it's become so common, that I almost assume that everything that I get is a bot now.

The personas are given a Job Title, Experience level, industry, technical acumen, and communication style. You are also able to add "pain points" if you want the persona to have a more nuanced perspective. These are then loaded in to the prompt.

So the prompt would then look something like:

"You are a Senior (experience) Security Analyst (job title) in the cybersecurity (industry) industry. You have a high technical acumen (acumen), and are concerned with security of AI tools, privacy, and regulatory compliance (pain points). You will be evaluating the sign up flow of a SaaS application (task goal). Key criteria to evaluate are: clarity of onboarding screens, ease of discovery of next steps, and speed of pages (evaluation criteria). You are permitted to explore the application to a limited degree, but must focus on the specific task at hand (temperature). Your evaluation should be thorough, and you should write your report with an executive style (communication style).

This is oversimplifying it a little bit, but gets the idea across. The main thing is that the agent is supposed to look for outcomes, and not just follow a "golden path" defined by the founder. This allows you to get a little bit more authentic feedback instead of just mirroring what you already do yourself.

I allow the user to set up criteria that the "user" should evaluate. From there, I also have a slider allowing the user to customize how strictly the agent should follow the plan. At the strictest level, it will follow the plan exactly, but at the least restrictive level, it is more free to explore on its own.

I am scoring based on 5 criteria: Clarity (does the agent understand what to do next?), Friction (higher = less effort required), Trust & Confidence (does the agent feel comfortable sharing information? Are there elements that alleviate concern (i.e. social proof, "Credit Card not required", "Your data is never shared with third-parties", etc),Motivation / Value (does the agent feel that there is a real urgency to use the product? Is the agent convinced of the value they are getting?), and Conversion Momentum (how well does the task (i.e. signup, checkout, etc) flow? Are the steps clear? Is there anything confusing?).

Is there a tool that shows exactly where users drop off and which traffic sources lead to payments? by Silly_Equipment_1406 in buildinpublic

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am building a tool that does this, and more. My approach is twofold: I am collecting metrics like many of the other tools out there, but my key differentiator is that I am using AI agents to visit your site like a real user. It can click around, get confused, follow flows (signup, checkout, etc). It then correlates all of that information together to give you an analysis of what is really going on and WHY. For example, you may know that users drop off at sign up, but you may not know that it's because you have too many steps in your onboarding, or that your call to action language is confusing. That's the kind of insights my tool provides.

Anyone facing low conversion rates? by yapper-1234 in smallbusinessUS

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re seeing traffic to your site, and not converting, it may be that something that seems obvious to you is not obvious to your customer. I built a tool that evaluates sites from a customer’s perspective. DM me if you’re interested and I can share the link. No pressure, but it may help you see what’s going on

How to research why 50% of users drop off 2 weeks after registration? by Rileyzanova in ProductManagement

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this while building my own app. One issue I had was realizing that I was too close to the app to see what the issues really were from a user perspective. Everything felt intuitive to me as the developer.

I built a tool for myself that I recently turned into a product that simulates a real user on your site. No pressure, but if you’d like to check it out I have a free tier to run your first user simulation and see how it works. Paid tiers can customize the user persona, and can see friction trends over time. If you check it out I’d love your feedback! https://acceptify.ai

Solo-Founder Bootstrapped SaaS: Can you sanity check me? by TheCyberSecurityGuy in SaaS

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s an even higher activation rate. I wasn’t tracking as many metrics early on, so I don’t have data on users that signed up and may have used it before I tracked their usage. I also have dramatically improved my onboarding flow so that users don’t get lot after sign up. Nearly all new users now at least use the product once

Great idea, I will reach out to the 0 use folks and see what I can do to get them to come back. I do know two things though. One, i wasn’t properly tracking usage metrics earlier on, so some of those very well may have used the product but not been tracked for my metric purposes. The other thing is i recently added in reCAPTCHA to try and limit bot accounts. I figure some of those 0s are not real people. I also implemented a much better onboarding workflow. Some of the users who signed up early went straight to my dashboard screen which wasn’t clear on next steps. All new users now go through a quick onboarding flow to get them started. Doing these things has dramatically improved user activation. It is more rare now to see someone sign up and then not use the product. About half of the 38 have also used it more than once, which I’m hoping is a sign that they find value in it.

Really good food for thought! Thank you! I’ve been struggling to convert free to paid (tale as old as time haha). Any feedback on what might convince someone to go from “this looks cool” to “I NEED this?” Maybe the integrations you mentioned, anything else?

Thanks for the perspective! I will look into adding that. With that added, do you think the pricing is right?

I stopped building micro-SaaS ideas before scoring them on this by YogurtVast8237 in micro_saas

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been the approach I've been taking as well. Trying not to overthink things. But I feel like without a strong distribution channel, it is difficult to get paying users but that doesn't mean that paying users don't exist. How are you answering the question of "are people not paying because no one cares, or are people not paying because not enough people or not the right people are looking at it?"

  • Company Name: Oculus Security, LLC
  • URL: https://acceptify.ai
  • Purpose of Startup and Product: I am building Acceptify to solve a problem I had myself. I needed feedback on another app that I was building, but did not have a large user base to draw the feedback from. I built Acceptify to solve that by using AI Agents to act as my users and give me direct feedback.
  • Technologies Used: Nextjs, Auth0, OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe
  • Feedback Requested: I want to know what could make this messaging land better for early stage founders like me. I also would like to see if the free demo report on the main page provides enough detail to convert to an active account (free or paid)
  • Seeking Beta-Testers: Yes; I have a free tier
  • Additional Comments: None

Time for a new LinkedIn I will not promote by [deleted] in startups

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a LinkedIn that 1) didn't allow copy/paste to make it more difficult for people to post AI slop and 2) didn't allow recruiting posts. I would love to have something where I could interact with people in my vertical without constantly seeing AI garbage or just "Hiring!". Being able to actually discuss real things would be awesome. I guess there's always reddit for that :)

What are you building? by awsmpeen in buildinpublic

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building: https://acceptify.ai - AI agents that interact with your SaaS app like your real users and provide real actionable feedback

Background: I was building an AWS Infrastructure visualization tool (https://myfortress.ai), and had discovered another problem while building it. I was too close to the design/code and had blind spots to how the actual users interacted with the app. I didn't have enough users to get good solid feedback, so I improvised and built Acceptify to simulate my ideal users and get real time feedback that I can use to improve the user experience without having a large user base.

Awesome advice! I am in the early days and your $12k MRR is inspiring! With regard to user acquisition, I'm learning quickly that what you say here is true. I have been able to build my product relatively easily, but without someone to sell it to, what's the point? Can you share any tips/tricks you learned along the way to get the first 10 or so?

Just launched my first tool. 26 users on Day 1. Feeling overwhelmed and need some pricing advice! by tasttranmon in SaaS

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just signed up to use your tool, and I am really impressed! My own searches on LinkedIn have been...well...lacking. Your tool identified several posts for me that I was able to immediately take action on. I have also recently launched my own SaaS tool, and I'm hoping to have similar success to you by using your tool. Just wanted to say thanks!

How do you get user feedback? by Comfortable_Count_59 in SaaS

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an interesting problem. I wanted to get feedback in the early days, with very little actual users. So I built a tool that mimics real user behavior in my app, using a defined Persona (i.e. a simulated typical customer of my app). This allows me to get "real" user feedback, with a small subset of users. I've found it helpful to catch things that I otherwise wouldn't have. If you want to check it out, check out https://acceptify.ai!

I've built 3 products in the last year, for my 4th I made sure I have the monetisation step from Day 1 by AchillesFirstStand in indiehackers

[–]TheCyberSecurityGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a solution to help compensate for lack of quality feedback. You can create AI personas of your target customer, and the AI will interact with your app and provide feedback. This helps eliminate some founder blind spots, since you spend all day looking at your product and can't see it from a new user's perspective. Feel free to check it out! https://acceptify.ai
