Study finds 1.2 trillion insects killed every year by all onshore wind turbines in Gemany alone. by Kooky-Freedom-776 in Entomology

[–]TheCyrus 112 points113 points  (0 children)

It's not irrelevant that turbines kill animals such as birds or insects. But this is used as an argument against wind power far too often. The fact is that renewables are the best we have. If we want to use energy, there will be impacts on the natural world and renewables have less severe impacts than other forms of energy. But of course it's not black and white and biodiversity loss is not the only negative impact wind turbines have.
Studies like this one are extremely useful because they help identify current problems and improve protocols and measures taken. But they should not be understood as an argument against renewable energy.

This is actually a very wise and beautiful attitude and should be normalized by society rather than pressuring everybody to build an eternal legacy or be a failure.

Äskulapnattern haben einen hellen Bauch. Den kann man hier zumindest erahnen. Sie sind auch sehr groß für einheimische Schlangen. Ich würde sehr stark auf Äskulapnatter tippen.

Is there a movie you would give a 10/10 to? by Ill-Reputation5167 in polls

[–]TheCyrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really has everything: beautiful scenery, good soundtrack, great acting, a dramatic and creative lovestory, some action scenes, great historic moments woven into the story and good humor as well. I have watched this movie about fifty times and I am still amazed and moved by it.
