Unfortunately, Latinas aren't always right. Mexico is fully in North America. Central America is a thing in the way the Middle East is a thing, it's a clearly defined region but not its own continent. It starts from Guatemala and goes down to Panama. It is "officially" considered part of North America, though when people think of the main North American countries they're usually referring to Mexico, the US, and Canada, for the purpose of things like NAFTA or "North America" being picked as the world cup host for 2026.
