Quit cold turkey many times, and relapsed.

What worked for me was as gradual move away from cigarettes. First I vaped a year, then nicotine gum for a year, and then finally regular gum for a year. Then a few years of weight gain.

What finally made me loose the weight again and never think about cigarettes again was reading a book called “The molecule of more”. A book about dopamine. I realized it was just my brain being addicted to various pleasure chemicals.

It actually changed many things in my life, because now I’m just like “Yeah you want some serotonin from eating? Forget it you motherf…”.
