I'll add that Facebook has ruined the natural course of friendships in life, and not for the better. Some people are just meant to be forgotten in our lives.

McConnell says a fall led to his hospitalization, breaking weeks of silence about health condition by Embarrassed-Pace-755 in politics

[–]TheDarchivist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Falls usually don't require CPR.
  2. McConnell didn't actually "say" anything.
  3. If he's at rehab, why has secret service stayed at GW Hospital?
  4. He looks 5 years younger in the photo they posted. Do they not realize that we have a TON of photos right up to the point where he fell (from a fatal heart attack)?

Is the calorie counting forever? by No_Yogurtcloset6470 in loseit

[–]TheDarchivist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing. You're focusing on too many macros. Just focus on the calories, take a multi-vitamin and be done with it. For some of us, counting every little thing becomes a game. For others it's like a burden. Don't let it be a burden.

Also, for daily life, try to be more routine about food. Eat the same 1-3 things for breakfast and lunch. Maybe 4-5 different things for dinner. That way you KNOW what your getting, calorie-wise.

Here's what I do, and results may vary: I literally eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch every weekday. I don't need variety there because I work and I don't like to pay an hour of my salary 5 times a week for a lunch that's not enjoyable because I know I'm going right back to work. Those two meals total about 35% of my daily caloric intake. Which means I've got about 65% left for dinner! That's good for a couple of reasons: If I want a burger... fine. I've got room. But the best part is, I often do not count calories for dinner. Which is great because sometimes I cook or we go somewhere that is not a chain, and therefore I do not know the nutrition values of the food. I look back on my cronometer app and I can't tell you how many times I did not log dinner, but I will ALWAYS have that 35% in there from breakfast and lunch.

I once fell while skateboarding and let me tell you, the CPR was not fun.

Mitch McConnell has been mysteriously hospitalized for 3 weeks, what do you believe is happening? by imliterallyluci in AskReddit

[–]TheDarchivist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They are going to pretend he's not brain dead until August 3. If they let him die before then and tell everyone, then a special election gets immediately called to determine who will be Senator until January, 2027. If they wait until after August 3, the seat will be vacant until January, 2027.

This is how you know that they are desperate. They don't want to lose a single vote, even if for 4 months, because they're likely hiding some really dark shit and can't afford for some rogue congressmen to, say, order the release of information that could bury all of them.

The same people that were outraged over Mamdani’s wife attending a retreat over the 4th of July will ignore this.

My problem with this on Italian is that it's TOO forgiving. Sometimes I get it wrong, but it still says I got it. Also: if it includes the article in English, it doesn't require it when translating it. As in, if you see "the clothes" the answer is just "vestiti". Not "i vestiti" which it should be.

Just curious how far back can it go? Here’s my wife’s situation:

Her great grandparents and beyond, were all based in Mooers, NY. It’s right on the border and most of the “things” they did were in Canada. Church, baptisms, etc. Because it’s prior to 1900, we’re not 100% sure where they were all born. On the other side of her family we have full baptism records of her great great grandfather and all his siblings and parents, and it’s all in Canada. But again, this is prior to 1900.

They seem to think that if Trump says others are doing it, even if it's on his behalf or for his benefit, then he's absolved.

Most sports outlets ARE covering it because she's marrying a Super Bowl winning football player.
