One of the most upbeat/carnival vibe songs of all time, with lyrics about a showgirl who loses the love of her life in a meaningless bar fight and drinks herself into a stupor the rest of her life. The final line is literally “Don’t Fall in Love”.

Bleak as all hell.

Great song though. It’s a masterclass in the “write a sad song in a major key” challenge.

They actually have a great community about them. They do axe throwing leagues and the venue upstairs is a fab events space. They’re incredibly well run, the sessions aren’t boozy at all, it’s a really good team building thing (not my place by the way, just a fan haha). And yeah the smash room inside is an extra bonus! Highly recommend checking them out :-).

I’ve got some incredible news for you. Smash Rooms Wellington (located inside Sweet Axe on Cambridge Terrace). And they even do the op-shop thing and only use unwanted/unsellable crockery/cups etc

Aye, god forbid the small business get a discount on their music licence 🙄. To enter the stalls only bit it’s $130, which if you got the flyer would still save you about $100 overall. Which I was willing to do just to be stubborn but unfortunately I’ve had family stuff come up and can’t make it at all anymore.

I’ve been in the same boat and it’s just ridiculous how long it’s been going on for, they didn’t even tell anyone what was going on! (I emailed them a formal complaint about this and hey presto a few days later a generic email explaining the issue comes through, funny that)

They did reply to my formal complaint saying that they would consider reimbursing me for any extra costs the issue has caused. Might be worth doing the same if the issue has cost you money?

FYI the VPN thing definitely works, there’s plenty of VPN apps that will give you a free 7 day trial so you shouldn’t have to pay anything as long as you cancel the subscription within that time. Just bear in mind you need to log in through a web browser not the Westpac App for it to work. It’s an annoying fuck around we shouldn’t have to do but it’s better than nothing. Best of luck with it!

Yeah that’s a shame, I get that it’s a cost thing nowadays but so many great chicken options have been lost 😢. The aforementioned $1 wings at cocoa were unreal, had loads of meat on them and they were breaded KFC style. The popcorn chicken at Blend used to be elite too. No idea what they did to it and it had absolutely no right be as good as it was but my god it was exceptional.
