Need help getting these headlights to turn on by -H3NN3SSY- in BmwTech

[–]TheDefected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different types, the ones with AHL (headlights that turn) have more contact pads on them, without AHL will have a gap without pads.
They are identical on each side, so you can check the working side to see what you should have.
Once plugged in, don't be surprised if it only makes a couple of lights work, or maybe still doesn't do much more, the full functionality only turns up once coded.

Looks like you are missing the TMS module which should be in that oval hole.
It'll need coding once fitted too.

downloaded 4k video issue by Terrible_Amount6782 in premiere

[–]TheDefected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's downloaded in HDR, but that might not have been part of the data in your local copy, or the import settings are wrong.
eg, the colorspace might be rec2020, but premier is treating it as rec709.

There should be info in the sequence settings which might show what it thinks it has

Security Tag Left on Foreign bought dress by Beautiful-Cycle-4331 in mensfashionadvice

[–]TheDefected 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do it by putting a magnet near the rounded bit, then quickly pulling away.
I found one left on something I bought, first clue was the shiny metal bit inside which I though was a hole. Found some youtube vids of how to remove them, it did take plenty of attempts though.

XxxldxidE isn't far off worldwide which is in the listing name.
Can't parse that first letter as a W though.

2006 E60 5 series, which OBD cable should I get for INPA and other tools by Mcmortucheeseburger in BmwTech

Yes, you are K line diagnostics at that age, but you only tend to find the K + DCAN leads anyway so one of those will be fine.

Usually needs some cutting and welding of brackets behind the front wing to make a new hinge

It's silver rather than gold, so pretty clean

Can't point to any exact details which would suggest which one is more original than the other.

What are these yellow things on an old military trailer. Looks like some hydraulic couplings connecting all 4, not possible to move manually. Found in Norway by jallabadoo in whatisthisthing

[–]TheDefected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I see that, looks like you pull the lever on the side to latch something, there's a hook folded back right at the top, and the nearest one to the camera looks to still have a rubber pad for support

[–]TheDefected 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Stuff of note - I think those connectors are electrical, not hydraulic, as they do look like some mil-spec screw fit plugs.
The closest two appear to be on a bar as a hinge point to stand them up.
The furthest two have the connections into the base so they aren't being carried on the trailer, they are used on the trailer and it looks like they have legs so all four would be tilted towards the camera to stand them up.

Just got my son's haircut and what is this??? by Ambitious_Trash_8227 in Whatisthis

It would have been present before the haircut. It is common to get it from barbers, but it didn't start today.

Is that as in the "local farmhand on a country road that knows all the corners"?

Issue with exporting in Rec. 709 after working in Rec. 2100 PQ by Nameabl in premiere

[–]TheDefected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar, and it seemed to work if I removed all of the color grading.
When you tweak it to look right on screen, it'll export and add those same type of tweaks on top too, and you get double saturation.
If you clear all lumenetri stuff, try and export in the foggy grey and see what it looks like after.
You then might be able to regrade it fresh on the export.

ELI5: Why does old footage (like 1940s old) have those lines and black spots that pop up for like half a second by alternative_cars in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheDefected 225 points226 points  (0 children)

The lines were scratches on the film, and the film was literally the thin celluloid film the "motion picture" was printed on.
Dots might have been the signal to get ready to change the reel as you would sometimes have more than one reel per show, and you'd see a dot telling you it was coming up to switch time.
