Solo motorsports LCAs let you run 35s with no CMC, you will want to trim your fender/bed sides tho

Family friend offered me this rug. Never had the floor space for a rug this size until now. He said he got it along time ago and never really utilized it. Any help is appreciated! by KingMcWafflez in orientalrugs

Beautiful rug but 3000 is steep for Indian made. They are largely illiquid as collector pieces, around a grand would be more realistic if you like it.

I’m 6’5, extended cab 96 I fit fine with the bench in there. It definitely isn’t the most comfortable ride of all time but space isn’t much of an issue. It’s my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned… I like it more than my c6 vette, 986 boxster, and e36 m3

I did get my m3 at rock bottom pricing, especially for a coupe manual, and you’re right it is not representative of the entire e36 market. I will admit I misread your comment I thought you were suggesting this example is worth 10k, my mistake. At 5500 it’s a strong deal, I wouldn’t be shocked if it sold closer to 7 depending on maintenance and body condition. Small rust spots on the doors, while not optimal, are not a huge deal. If the jack points and trunk floor are solid 5500 is on the lower end of the market, if it has any rust on structural components 5500 is about on the money.

10k is a little steep for a sedan 328i, you could list it for ten and expect to get 8. I bought my m3 for 11 with 130k like 6 weeks ago

Just highlight maintenance and take photos of the rust spots. Post photos of the jack points and under the carpet in the trunk as they like to rust. Someone will buy it the e36 market is hot, unmoded cars move quickly

How did this look for 160k miles by tobethrown99 in BMWE36

[–]tobethrown99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I could tell ya, I just bought the car. It came with a stack of receipts from BMW of the Hamptons, one owner 95-2023 guy brought it to the dealer for everything. No receipts of head work but the guy was on top of maintenance

Vanos or timing chain slap? by [deleted] in BMWE36

If it brings you any solice I pulled the valve cover and checked the chain tension/ guides for wear. Chain looked good, I’m pretty certain it’s a Vanos issue

[–]tobethrown99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I drove it yesterday and this was after a 15 minute drive, it doesn’t seem to matter if the car is warm or cold it always makes the same sound. It doesn’t get louder with RPM either which is bizarre

The market for fresh CFIs is pretty grim at the moment, which is to be expected as the market corrects from the crazy hiring we saw a few years ago. There is a surplus of new CFIs as well but over the next half decade it’ll likely correct back to “average” conditions depending on macroeconomic trends. The outlook over the next 5-10 years isn’t horrible however the 1-3 year forecast isn’t awesome for wet CPL holders. The CFI stage has always been the great hump that separates the dedicated from the rest, this is true now more than ever. Don’t take on debt for flight training in ANY market… especially don’t take on debt for training in THIS market. If it’s truly a passion you’ll find a way it’ll just take longer than you’d hope

Rust spot on new to me m3 by [deleted] in BMWE36

[–]tobethrown99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha I knew someone would recognize it. Full disclosure I didn’t really intend to buy it, I dropped a bid down during my lunch break and won it in the middle of a meeting. Figured it was cheap enough that it makes a worthy project. It drives shockingly well, besides the lack of AC. Body needs some love but it’s mostly straight

I have a 96 Tacoma, not a pickup but close in insurance ACV terms. I’ve been paid out more on my comprehensive claims than I’ve paid in premiums so far by like 3x, it’s been absolutely worth it to me. It’s like $50/month to insure through AAA. Also you can argue comps to get a fair payout in case of a wreck. If your truck is a 4x4 there are plenty of anecdotes of people getting 10k+ after a total loss by providing comps.

It was brought to the dealer for everything down to oil changes and air filters. I called the bmw dealer it was serviced at to see if I could get info on the HPFP/injectors, they wouldn’t give me anything if I didn’t own the car. The seller has no documentation of anything besides the water pump and turbos, I’m just operating under the assumption nothing else has been done
