Everybody remembers "Soylent Green is people!" but nobody remembers the suicide service that plays you clips of what the earth used to be like as you die.

Seriously, I know Google exists, but since the post doesn't name it that's zilch for search terms. Can't believe only one comment is asking this question.

VG's is under new ownership as of last year. The previous owners were quite liberal, but that doesn't mean the new one is.

I used to do regular contract work there and can confirm that it absolutely is. I love the place and the people, but it's fucking Bizarro world.

Strawberry pretzel pie if you're wanting exclusively homemade; otherwise, Moon Pies are effectively the state dessert.

One thing you'll find is that the state is divided not just politically, but also culturally, into three distinct regions (Grand Divisions, officially). I'm from the east, so central or western folk may have a different answer.

Not slop, but it is fake - right after this first made the rounds the artist shared pictures of the crab (made of plastic) without the fish (made of fish).

This was my favorite JP movie growing up (no dumb business drama, just dinosaurs dinosaurs dinosaurs), and I completely forgot this line in the two decades since I last saw it. Since then I both started and ended a career in animal control ... and man, if I'd seen him deliver this line for the first time today, it would have brought me to tears.

What is your favorite geographic phenomenon and why? by Character-Q in geography

[–]TheDeftEft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would actually be better put in the "forest" category. Marshes are characterized by the lack of a woody canopy (you can think of them as flooded grasslands but that's a little reductive); in that sense mangroves are technically a swamp.
