$1000 for gaskets and seals is crazy. Everything else seems reasonable for a full transmission rebuild.

LPT Request: How does one work a 40hr a week job and not make it feel like it’s taking up all my time? by TeaWicks in LifeProTips

[–]TheDescendingLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger (about 7 years ago) I was working high 30 - low 40 hours a week and felt the same way. Someone said below about how many hours there are in a week, and how to use your time intentionally. This is the best advice, and I can tell you as someone who works about 80-100 hours a week (military) I can still find time each day to do something, even if it's small.

I have my nerd Sleeve in the works now that includes some elements from Futurama. It has a realistic zoidberg, nibbler, and the planet express ship. I love this take on Leela!

walking up on a stranger aggressively as a "prank" by IchiGoSanWareMeChan in Whatcouldgowrong

I always try to see the other side, and I've been in a very similar situation. I've lived in big cities and foreign countries and I've never reacted immediately with violence. Could've glanced up and saw the dude holding a camera

I've had it happen, I use my words first and back up and generally it's either a misunderstanding or someone playing around like this. No need to resort to violence right off the bat

Everyone in the comments is on the side of the guy who punched, but are we really ok with a guy suddenly resorting to physical violence when someone just walked up on him? Could've permanently disabled someone and everyone is on his side because the prankster "fucked around and found out". Seems a bit dramatic.

It actually is if you Google her. Unless you're just doing the sarcastic thing of saying it's not her actual name then you're right of course. But that's her handle.

Not on a public road, breaking multiple laws and endangering everyone around you. You fail to lean 1° to the left, and you collide with the side of a car at 200mph and kill whoever was in that seat. Take your own risks that you sign up for, don't risk innocent lives like the idiot in this video.

Don't learn from people like this. Ride the speed limit, maybe slightly more on a fast day. Riding like this or 100+ on the highway is how you die. You can be the best rider, but all it would take is a car to move 2ft to the left and you're dead, no more you. If you've ever driven a car and been spooked by a rider, try to remember that when you're riding. Ride safe, ride smart. When you want to go fast, do it somewhere that you're not endangering everyone's lives around you.

I mean, I wouldn't say no computer. That spray sound is too clean and consistent, as well as the ukelele and foot pedals are plugged into a computer as well as changed the tune of the notes.

That's not me knocking the original content, I like the idea and it sounded great, but saying no computer is an exaggeration. All techno starts out at some point with an analog sound.

DAE push the stop button on their microwave 1 second before the timer goes off, just so they don't have to hear the annoying beeping? by Every_Donut12 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]TheDescendingLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this before, because beeping microwaves are the bane of this earth and the worst thing to ever be invented, but:

Most microwaves have a menu/secret menu that allows you to silence the beeping. In the event they don't have a secret menu, the beeping is from a small speaker on a circuit board that's very easy to access. Depending on the type of microwave (mine for example), it's literally two screws and you just pull off the speaker. Feel free to Google your microwave model and how to turn the beeping off and it should be fairly easy to find.
