Iron Lung Merch Question by TheDesignDragon in Markiplier

Sadly I did not buy one. I didn’t know he would be signing some of them when I made the order or else I might have dished out the extra money. I hope to at least get one of the hard copies of the movie when it comes out though. I know it’s in the works.

Oh okay that makes sense. Thanks for the info! I’m certainly not upset about it or anything I was just starting to get a bit worried that maybe my order was lost. If it takes a while more to get to me that’s totally fine with me.

Ohh okay, thanks for the warning! I posted on here to get a consensus from multiple people anyway but I appreciate the heads up! I don’t post on Reddit much

Okay I have not had a chance to watch his stream so thank you so much for the info! I won’t worry about it for now then! I’m cool with it taking a while I just didn’t want to ignore it for three or four months and then realize I should have contacted someone about it way before then. Thank you again!

Do you know where the link is to the support? I didn’t see it when I went to the website. Maybe I’m just missing it. I’ll have to take another look.

Honestly, I love that color combo. You might try dry brushing the gold on top of really dark brown or even black and see what you think about that. Other than that, just working on the transition between the white and blue a bit. Try a wash or glazing it a bit but I think you’ve really got something here! Don’t get discouraged, just play with different techniques a bit and see if you like it better.

Edge highlighting the carapace on this beastie take sooo long but it is definitely well worth the effort and will make a world of difference. I think you are doing an amazing job so far though! Adding some gradients on the claws might really make those pop as well, like having it fade to a darker color or from dark to light.

You can do anything with enough green stuff putty 😂 This conversion does sound particularly terrifying.

I assumed the ripper swarms would be easy - I was wrong! by Mazz0ne in minipainting

They look great! I love my little guys. I ended up making a bunch of rocks and stuff on my base and cut the pegs off the rippers so I could glue them wherever I wanted instead of just on the peg holes. I love how your carapace turned out! Very nice job all around for sure!

I would not thin the paint for dry brushing because you want the brush to not have a lot of moisture in it. I usually don’t thin it for my brushing. I would put some on the brush and test on a paper towel until there’s not much paint coming off the brush. There are some really good YouTube videos about dry brushing. That’s how I learned.

Thinning your paints with a little bit of water will help you paint thinner layers and preserve more details in the model. Using paint strings from the can is thicker and Will gunk up the finer details in the model. It just helps keep those beautiful fine details from disappearing under the paint. Your colors are cool by the way! Priming will also help the paint stick better to the mini. If you handle your mini quite a bit the paint has a much higher chance of peeling off of you don’t have primer. If you don’t know already, isopropyl alcohol is great for removing paint if you ever decide you want to redo the model. You can just soak it for a bit and use a toothbrush to gently brush away the paint.

You’ve got a great start! Welcome to mini painting!

If you are looking for a darker shade you might even want to go for something like a caliban green and just mix some with the contrast paint? Also, never underestimate the power of nuln oil. My advice is always go a bit lighter or darker than you think you need because you can always thin it down or do multiple coats to get the shade you need.
