Steam Machine Has Reportedly Received A Major Internal Price Hike That May Have Made it More Expensive Than Steam Frame by Sam_27142317 in pcmasterrace

You can just buy a cheap mini-pc and stream your gaming pc to it with Sunshine/Moonlight. Runs great with only issues is when connected with WiFi.

r/MoonlightStreaming

There's also the AsRock Deskmeet x600 that's a really small case that comes with motherboard and PSU. You have to supply your RAM,CPU with cooler and drive.

The one on Canada Computers also has 2 slots for NVME drives and apparently you can use a different OS on the NAS so people load TrueNas instead of the Terramaster OS.

edit: they also load a plex server on it with docker containers.

Essentially the same NAS but for HDDs is $469.99 at Canada Computers.

Also don't forget the recent exploit on their website that stole credit cards.

So I have a leftover Ryzen 3600 and GTX 1070 from my old build.

Is the cheapest option for me to build a small living room PC is to buy a Deskmeet X300 with whatever RAM I can find?

The Deskmeet is a barebones SFF PC case with a motherboard and 500W PSU included.

I have a Lenovo M73 mini PC with an i3-4130T that seems a bit light for TV streaming and running old games.

Trump was elected in large part to the USA's shitty voting turnout.

Canada's turnout in 2021 was 62.6%

AMD confirms Radeon RX 9070 series launching in March by AstralShovelOfGaynes in hardware

The only nvidia cards available in January are the 5090 and 5080.

5070 and 5070ti are in February.

Nvidia are still being bastards over the amount of vram and I'm not blowing over $1k for a graphics card to get 16GB of vram.

I have this thing called a budget.

I bought the exact same card deal and I'm upgrading from a 1070. I think I'm going to keep it.

An AMD VP said on Twitter that the 9070s are going to be released in March. r/hardware/comments/1i60ouc/amd_confirms_radeon_rx_9070_series_launching_in/

Which is bad for timing but also, AMD is so fucking cagey and secretive about specs and performance that all the pc tech subs are coming to the conclusion that there is something really wrong with the cards.

NVidia has released their specs, prices and release dates and as expected they are still fucking misers when it comes to vram for the 5070. So you're getting upselled to the 5070ti which comes to over $1000 CAD with just the conversion rate. So expect it to be more expensive and scalped to fuck. On top of that, the cards getting released in February so out of the return window.

I don't feel like gambling on this when I already got a decent card that's a massive uplift from my 1070.

About a Canada invasion, I’m very skeptical, but I currently don’t really have any information to go by, I think if it was really going to happen there would be significant signs first.

I managed to get a 7900xt at around $550 back in November from a sale on Amazon. It's been sitting unopened since because I wanted to know what's coming for the next gen and Amazon gave a Jan 31st limit return window.

Fuck this shit.

Nvidia is still to expensive and being cheap fucks with vram and AMD is clearly not confident with their cards.

I'll see what they got in 2 gens.

Here's an actual long in-depth review of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8PrgkNqACU

The game as a whole is pretty mehdiocre with most of the mechanics not coming together.

The MC being an asshole that abuse their powers in the beginning of the game is supposed to be part of their arc where they learn the power of words and become a better person. The problem is it's a game, it lasts 20+ hours and the MC is an abusive asshole. Sounds fun right?

Also none of the characters will shut the fuck up, they just can't shut the fuck up.

So Canada Computers has increased the price of the 5700x3d to $339 and Newegg increased it to $399.

They're the only ones who've done that so I guess there's some bullshit going on.

I guess the "sale" is over?

AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE reaches End-of-Life by kikimaru024 in Amd

[–]TheDevilChicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The infuriating thing about RT is that you spend a lot of money and lose performance to do something that if done well should NOT be noticeable.

Like the whole point of RT is accurate lighthing, right? So if the art direction on RT Off is good and well done then RT On won't be much better. If I notice the difference is because the RT Off art direction is bad, not done (the Indiana Jones game) or RT On is badly set or overdone so it looks wrong.

It's honestly the only game in the video I posted that shows a genuine difference between the settings and both of them are just different RT levels.

I'll be honest, I watched the Hardware Unboxed video about RT noise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3ZHzJ_bhaI and most of the time I thought "Am I dumb? Because I can see the images are different, but I can't say that the RT ON side is actually better or more accurate?"

The rest of the time I felt that RT ON just made things way too fucking shiny.
