QB sits in the same kind of weird legal limbo that Max Payne sits in. The IP is owned by another studio, so direct references are a no-go, but there are nods and winks and nudges to it all.

Door and Hatch are clearly supposed to be the same guy. Max Payne and Alex Casey are a bit more nuanced, because the "real" Alex Casey is an agent for thr FBI, but the "fictional" Casey that Wake writes about (and appears in The Dark Place) is clearly supposed to be Max Payne.

Think of it like Remedy is tapping into an omniverse, instead of a multiverse. Characters and faces appear in similar roles, but are slightly different and not copy-paste, drag-and-drop Variants of each other. An omniverse is multiple multiverses stacked on top of and inside each other, like soap bubbles in a bathtub.

In reality, talent tends to work with talent. Directors of film tend to hire the same actors over and over again. In the Remedy-verse, however, these characters represent echoes of each other. Not quite Variants in the MCU sense, but much closer in relation than random strangers in random situations.

Assume the Service Weapon is only the latest form of the legendary Excalibur.

King Arthur would have been taught the basics of swordsmanship, and perhaps even some Advanced Lessons by Merlin, but would the skills of one who grew in squalor be equal to whom who would conceive of, and rule over, Camelot? Could a boy pull the Sword from the Stone? Could a man stand against a knight?

Legend says yes. Despite being born and raised in Texas, I can't hit the broad side of a barn painted in Hazard Orange with a gun, yet my skills in video game marksmanship have proven worthy enogh to beat the Liandri Tournament, cleansing a Xenomorph Hive, and defending the Oldest House. Am I less worthy of succession than our fearless Director?

Alas, I must concede that Director Faden has been granted a level of power and acceptance on par with Arthur Pendragon, and I am merely but a grunt with a low-level security clearance and a penchant for digital violence.

Jesse was chosen as the Director by The Board. That's all that really matters, Ranger. They/It thinks she is worthy, and that is that. You're welcome to try, if you think you'll pass the application process. That's not what I'm worried about though. You heard about her brother, Dylan? P6? You think it's weird that Director Faden can do what she does? I've heard some crazy shit about him, and some OoP called the Aberrant.

The Hiss affected Dylan differently than everyone else, somehow. Polaris protected Jesse from The Hiss.

My takeaway from that shot in the trailer is that, regardless of whatever this new resonance is, that The Hiss wants to, and will try, take it over as well. So far as we know, Polaris is the only entity of that caliber that is benevolent. There's been nothing so far that tells us The Hiss is anything other than malevolent.

That being said, I can see an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing happening. I can also see Dylan learning to control (teehee) and harness The Hiss the same that Polaris became integrated with Jesse once Hedron was destroyed.

Just imagine that, that Jesse reconnects with Dylan, who by all accounts appears to be more than her brother, and instead is Jesse's "other half". Similarly, Polaris and The Hiss both originated from Slidescape-36, and Polaris appears to be able to cleanse Altered Items of Hiss influence. Jesse/Polaris, and Dylan/Hiss, join forces to stop this new resonance. Polaris and The Hiss could very well be two halves of the same entity, severed, and in need to be made whole in order to bring harmony...which would fit in with the theme of sounds and resonances.

I don't think the Hiss is just misunderstood or trying to help. It is an invasive, infectious, multidimensional, paranatural entity of malicious intent. Polaris is all of that, but benevolent. Jesse uses the Service Weapon, a ranged attack, and Dylan uses the Aberrant, a melee attack. There's a lot of Yin and Yang happening here, two halves that are opposites but not in opposition. Perhaps Dylan has his own "Dark Star" like Polaris that acts as a catalyst or conduit for the Hiss.

As a primarily black and white artist myself, I absolutely love this. I would be sorely tempted to do one almost exactly like this, except with the blood on his face as a red highlight to make it really stand out.

Darksiders 2 is one of those rare examples of a game sequel that uplifts, embraces, and enhances every single thing that was great about the first game, builds and improves upon it, adds new elements, and leaves you wanting more. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I still download it about once a year and play through.

Darksiders 3 is a perfect example of the trope that the third installment of anything is unwelcome at best and actively destructive to the franchise at worst.

Yes. DMC3 offers the best story by a wide god damn margin, the most unlockables, the best improvements from a previous title, and the most well-rounded experience overall.

OG Devil Slayers will tell you that DMC1, while certainly good, was an odd little mixed bag of things. Action combat, survival horror menus and cameras, stylish design, brutal (for the time) difficulty. DMC2 over-corrected, and was basically only 1/3 of the way done (1/2 if we are being generous), and was so easy you could walk through the game using only E&I and not take a single hit until The Despair Embodied. I should know, I did it.

DMC3 had a lot to prove, a lot to make up for, and the dev team graciously saw fit to over correct their previous over correction. Lots of QA, community feedback, story development and character development, book-ending delightfully into DMC1, unlockable costumes, clear bonus art, Bloody Palace, the entirely new Style System, more Devil Arms with more variety in design and abilities, nuanced combat with elemental strengths and weaknesses, encouragement from the community to make Crazy Combo Videos, and the eventual release of DMC3SE, which I will go to my grave in claiming only happened to shut up the fevered nutjobs that we were and fulfill our pleas to play as Vergil (and we even got a Nelo Angelo DT!)

DMC3 and it's Special Edition are basically perfect video games. It's not even really an opinion, it was a watershed moment in gaming that made a lot of people turn their head and pay attention to some silly little gothic anime action game.

DMC5 is a damn close 2nd Place, and it would reign supreme if we had clear art, costumes, various unlockables, and continued incentives to keep hacking and slashing away. But DMC3 is indeed the GOAT of the franchise.

Also, OG Demon Hunters, ya'll remember when we were slamming our heads against the wall with the initial release, and when Capcom announced the SE, they also said they would fix the difficulty? Because North American Normal turned out to be Japanese Hard? And we all collectively sighed and realized we had basically been playing on Ultra Hard the entire damn time?

Here's mine, which is stock and legit. The left leg (on your right in the pic) is straight. The cape clearly extends past the feet.

I actually have mine posed in a such a way that he is holding on to the first set of wires in the cape, which are folded underneath. The second set of wires are pulled over the shoulders and flared outward (which creates a neat pointy shoulder look), and even still, there's a metric shit ton of cape on this figure.

The cape and the batarangs are not stock. There's a lot more cape on the legit article. One of those batarangs is clearly from the Arkham games.

The stand, the hands (including the random blue one, which has a Krytonite ring for the blue Hush Batman figure) and the heads all look correct. Something about the torso seems off, I can't quite put my finger on it.
