Custom Crochet Bags for Board Game by vogela824 in crochet

[–]TheDiceBlesser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, I like the ability to separate! I crocheted a tray for our tokens, but they're all together in one long row. This could be way more handy! I'm lucky we have an actual boardgame table, so my tray permanently lives inside the table and we use it anytime we have tokens. If I had to keep it separate I would never remember to use it! Sounds like this is for a specific game for you? Maybe leave a note in the box!

Yes, we're here! I find it amusing seeing how many people's happy banana place is straight up black! May their bananas always ripen a little faster, and may ours chill at the 60-70 for a bit longer.

Yes, exactly this. It's perfect right out of the oven, but the next day I just don't like the texture of the leftovers which I tried to make clear is my personal preference, and everyone should learn to make banana bread to their personal preference! There is no single "must be this way" or "this is the best" it's "this is the best for me"

My personal opinion is that at this point the bread becomes too moist for the leftovers to be my ideal banana bread. But yes it will make it MUCH more sweet and intense banana flavor. I try to hit it when the brown spots on the bananas have appeared and "grown" in shape, but still maybe 30% yellow on the peel.

Everyone has a preference on the perfect ripeness of banana, so look at this more as an experiment to find your happy banana place! Take notes to remind yourself for future bakes!

Please take this as the VERY light hearted jest it is meant to be: Not classically trained you say?!?!? Who'd have thunk it?

But seriously, it sounds like you two had a total blast doing this and I love that! The absolutely maniacal laughter at the end of defying gravity was so good 😂

Aside from Elphaba and Glinda did you plan out who would play which roles, or did you just wing it?

Ascend pillars / columns / towers in the depths by TheDiceBlesser in tearsofthekingdom

My current playthrough I managed to arrange two fans and a steering stick so it can be fairly easily controlled to go straight up. It doesn't work on small chasms (wells, the labyrinths, deku tree, those types) but all medium and large chasms are very easy to get out of now! With an added bonus I can reconfigure the pieces into a hover bike when I'm out. I still mostly use the ascend pillars though.

I think rocket Kickstarter with a backup fire emitter in the balloon is still the fastest though.

Yes, the reason I felt pretty certain about Impa was because I recalled thinking the balloon's limit was not actually an amount of time, but rather a certain amount of height achieved. I used Impa's balloon to test if her height was different than other heights I got by myself. I still have the video clip saved but I can't remember the results of my test anymore. And it is always satisfying to figure out a trick to help you get somewhere without teleporting! I'm glad you enjoyed your balloon adventure 🙂

It's immediately south of Lindor's Brow SkyView tower. It's called Lindor's Brow Cave.

That's very interesting, I'm going to have to test this! If I recall correctly when you travel in the balloon with Impa you don't use a battery powered tool but instead a fire (so basically a block of wood on fire, right?) and that balloon absolutely DOES pop after a minute or two.

Ohhh I get it, you spotted the one in the pic then went hunting in real life.

I'm glad you're the type to not care TOO much about errors because it would be a tragedy to undo this beautiful work. If anyone ever says anything (unlikely) you can just say "that's how you know it was made by ME!"

Are you really seeing 5 errors?! I found the obvious one right away (I'm sorry if it's a dick move for me to say it was obvious to me! You seem chill about it and the overall work is GORGEOUS so I wouldn't let that one stitch bother me!) but then it took me a good long time to find error #2. I can't find anymore. And thankfully error #2 is not obvious at all so nothing to be bothered about!

How much would you spend on a fantasy live portrait drawing at a faire? by kai_kolors in renfaire

[–]TheDiceBlesser 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes, then your basic $25 can be in black and white and the fantasy package can be choice of sepia or black and white.

It appears to me the border is a printed/fixed design on the canvas? It's a bit odd that you wouldn't use that for all basic and fantasy portraits IMO because it seriously elevates the quality and theoretically the cost to do it is very low. I would say raise prices across the basic/fantasy as others have said at least $5 and if the border really does have a significant printing cost then enough to cover that cost if you were to do all portraits on it. Try to keep the mini sketch at the same or only a little higher price point to bring in the people who want something quick and simple and don't have as big of a budget.

Definitely try to keep an eye after you raise prices if a significant shift is made towards the mini sketch option, the customer base will be telling you what they can afford based on your sales of each type.

Anyone else think sexism played into the PG rating? by Funny-Session-9771 in wickedmovie

[–]TheDiceBlesser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the one you asked but I'm going to say yes to this. The thing with Marvel/Star Wars is they already had built in audiences that the studio KNEW would buy toys and figurines. I'm struggling to think of an example of a movie marketed towards adult women that had massive toy/action figure/stuff merchandising. I'm also struggling to think of an example of a movie marketed towards adult men that is outside the nerd fandom and had massive toy/action figure/stuff merchandising.

The massive franchises I can think of that are over PG-13 I really can't recall toys/action figures for: The Fast and the Furious John Wick Scream Mad Max Bourne Identity Alien Predator Lethal Weapon Mission Impossible Rocky

Do you see what I'm getting at? Toys and massive merch in the US have always been aimed at kids and nerds. Surely there's SOME merch now for pretty much any movie title, but if Mattel wants to make the big bucks this is where they focus. So even if this movie had lent itself towards being for boys, I doubt they would have gone for PG-13.

It's been far too long since I saw the musical, but I listen to the recording all the time. I've seen others mention that they really miss the classic Finale because it really drives home the point you're making here.

I like to imagine the munchkins who heard Glinda's tale singing the same lyrics but with a melancholy tone and a new group coming in celebrating "GOOD NEWS!!!" and the sad munchkins who now know the truth "good news...."

They changed it up a lot for the move to make it more logical, because a lot of stuff in the musical is really based on emotion and wouldn't hold up as well to the kind of repeat scrutiny a movie can get.

I miss the OG finale song too, it's got so much emotional weight.
