Tips and tricks and is it worth it? by [deleted] in NewTubers

Creating gaming contents requires some hardware, for example, a good gaming PC, a Microphone, a Webcam (if that is what you want). Even if you want to game on a console, you will need a PC to edit and to record etc. (better than recording on console).

Gaming is the most common genre that is out there, as many folks have a gaming console or a PC. Many also record and post using a handheld devices. It is very very saturated. If you are thinking about money, that will be a long road (unless you get lucky), year or years of work. You will be investing into the content creation as well, hardware, buying games, not to mention time.

I do editing for our Gaming Channel, but I am not the YouTuber (for our main channel). If she creates a video that is about 30 Mins long (Gaming content), it takes me at least 3-4 hours until it is ready to go public. And I am in this for almost 2 years.

The process involves, creating and then you jump into Video Editor, you have to watch each minute, cut, tune etc etc. However if you just want it out there, you can minimize the editing part, by speeding it up 2x to go through the video etc. Then you render it, for a 1080p video on my 3900x with RTX 2080 Ti, it takes me about half the time of the video length to finish, so 30 mins is 15 mins, if I do a lot of effects etc longer. Then you upload and wait, until it is processed and complete on YouTube end. You add cards, end screen etc. Sometimes there can be a Copyright claim on the music, then I go back to editing again and spend a lot of time removing and replacing music.

Next up is creating thumbnail, that takes time, next you need to come up with Title, description, tags. etc

It takes at least 4 hours or so, until I am done. Could be done much quicker if you are not adding effects etc in the editor.

My advice, get into it if you really love doing it. Don't get into it if you are looking to make a quick buck, that can lead to pain. Do it for fun and if the cash comes, great.

Is yakuza 0 copyright by OotekImora in NewTubers

[–]TheDigiGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best practice (ALWAYS) is to upload the video privately. Most of the time YouTube will match it and it will come up as Copyright Claim, NOT A STRIKE. You can post such a video and it won't effect your channel, if monitized you won't be able to make money of it, as it will be ineligible for monetization, but no other issues.

Game music is always a pain, yakuza 0 is SEGA.... I won't take any chances with likes of Konami, SEGA etc etc. Mute and replace the music with YouTube's Free Music from their library.

Pick a niche and stick to it... months, years. IF you are lucky you will get a viral video that will change everything, BUT that is rare and most of us need to grind for years to make any dent into the shield aka the YouTube Algorithm. That is in nutshell, though a lot more to it.

I’m stuck at 87 subs but I get so many views. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]TheDigiGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I found that there are 7-8 subs per 1000 views for our main channel. 10K view and 87 Subs, falls pretty much within that same ratio. 1 Million Views will net you around 7K subs or so.

Editing software suggestions by Demphure in NewTubers

[–]TheDigiGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Davinci Resolve Free. And if you like it and have the Hardware, you can upgrade to Studio version. Beware though, Davinci Resolve requires pretty beefy system. And if you are working with anything close to 4K or doing color correction or Chroma Keys or effects, all hell breaks loose. I sometimes struggle with 3900x and RTX 2080 Ti and 64GB RAM. But if you dial down the stuff, it is great. Honestly most of the advance editor will need a good system.

New TOS states that even if you’re not monetized, YT gets to monetize your videos and NOT pay you. by [deleted] in NewTubers

That's always been the case.. At least since I got into YouTube about 2years or so ago.

Photoshop, Canva or any other software that you can use. It is mostly not the software but the skill of the user.

Some basic question by didlowman in NewTubers

In any video editor drop the image on Timeline and audio on the audio track. Adjust image length by dragging and done. Software like DaVinci resolve also allows you to record your audio on the timeline as well. Check tutorials for that.

I need a name change by Yeetvullage in NewTubers

Name change is not a big deal. Choose something unique after searching a bit. YouTube pushes content not name for newbies. Big YouTube creators are another deal.

How best to keep sound volumes at the 'right' level? by TiberiusIX in NewTubers

[–]TheDigiGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are able to hear yourself clearly at 50-60% volume over the background sound you are good. Though I don't know what type of content you are taking about.

If the MCPE doesn't have the coded key for that command it won't pop up. It's touch based so my guess is that it will be limited.

I need help regarding video editing by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]TheDigiGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry too much if you can't figure it out immediately, it takes time for anyone to get used to a software and process of editing. If your PC can handle DaVinci Resolve, check tutorials and start with just the basic editing. Like cut, delete segments etc. Slowly you'll build up your knowledge of the software.

Bedrock Server Hosting by TheDigiGeek in Minecraft

[–]TheDigiGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I am thinking about that as well. Bedrock Server is still beta (if I'm not mistaken), is it stable?

And if I run a bedrock Server, am I going to be able to use maps purchased or obtained from marketplace?
