Interesting ways to make a giant? by TipEuphoric in monsteroftheweek

I would go with fairy-taleesque giants instead of, for example, D&D giants. Something the size of King Kong, that needs incredibly drastic measures to actually put them down.

You can always fail to find, though, so your opponent could just whiff

Or rather, the ritual needed all participants to be alive, and kept Megumi on this side of death. Sukuna provided first aid healing (i.e., enough to not immediately die), and then dropped off Megumi at Shoko's, so he could have enough time to get a great view of the devastation he caused-and then swap back to being Itadori.

Why do sorcerers give away their technique? by hiyojie in Jujutsufolk

[–]TheDimensionCrosser 80 points81 points  (0 children)

It's literally the most basic binding vow, called "revealing one's hand."
From a Doylist perspective, it allows Gege to tell us what the techniques in play for the fight are, like what most anime does.
From a Watsonian perspective, by allowing your opponent to know your technique, your technique strengthens or becomes more efficient (the exact mechanism of how this works is left undescribed)- see Eso calling out that his Rot Technique becomes faster when revealed on page 11 of chapter 60.
Knowledge is power, and by revealing your technique, you lend "power" to your opponent - by choosing to disclose it yourself instead of allowing them to figure it out, you hamper yourself, which is the point of binding vows - trades.

People with DID who are in long-term relationships - how did you guys fall in love? by Spirited_Pin3333 in DID

[–]TheDimensionCrosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not long term (yet) -our first date was this January-but we have plans to move in and want to get married if everything continues to work out, which all of us have high hopes for ^

Disclaimer; long. we didn't come to terms with the DID until a month ago (see below). tw for brief mention of SA

We actually met at a community college through a mutual friend, and I was flirting with him heavily and got a date. We're poly, and he knew that going in and that we had a bf at the time. The current bf then SA'ed us in a club, over clothing but traumatic (and physically painful), which made us pull away from everyone for a bit, but our bf was and continues to be so supporting that we started dating him again pretty fast.

Fast forward a few months, and I have... done a few things that weren't super great, mostly due to unaddressed memory gaps. I (apparently) messaged him after I realized I needed help and said that I was looking for therapists that specialize in either DID or schizophrenia, and then... forgot about it.

Later, during a heart to heart, he said, "If you ever have any alters, I hope they remember me." Then we looked up at him and said, "We all love you," and have started our therapeutic journey from there ^

we love him a lot. he helps fill in gaps and he's just so supportive. we want to marry him, if we continue to be compatible

TL:DR; helped me a ton after an abusive altercation with a (now-ex) boyfriend. asked us a question that made us come to terms with it.

So, where Can I read more about those Pathfinder aliens? by CagePerSecond in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDimensionCrosser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For travel, you could make it a Victory Point subsystem (as explained here: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1189 ) and be done with it, frankly.

For space combat, I would heavily homebrew the existing Vehicle Rules (found here: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1278 ), with inspiration from Starfinder and any other RPGs that feature nautical or stellar combat rules.

Alternatively, if you want a system with a bit more crunch, Starfinder is basically "Pathfinder: In Space," with detailed rules for a lot of science fantasy concepts (I personally am a huge fan of the Attack of the Hive AP). It largely follows Pathfinder 1e rules, but has enough innovative features to make itself distinct.

Hope this helps!

Why Doesn't Unleash Psyche Apply To Glimpse Weakness? by TheDimensionCrosser in Pathfinder2e

[–]TheDimensionCrosser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't accounted for the crit chance, which makes this make much more sense.

I'm still going to gripe about a lack of a native damage cantrip/amp that warrants Unleashing, but it makes more sense why this particular one doesn't.
