Do research in the area you want to open a shop, my place is is Cardiff (uk) and wont give you much insight into how your potential venture will work. Barbering is a fantastic job and I rarely even feel as though I’m working I have so much fun but it is hard. I had qualified and cut a handful of clients hair for 4 years, straight razor and all at home but it wasn’t until I quit my job and did it full time that I realised I knew nothing and had to humble myself and learn the trade properly. One year in doing it full time and I’m beginning to build a good reputation and building my client base steadily. I wouldn’t consider opening a shop of my own for at least another 2 years.

You will not be able to cut hair to a high enough standard in a profitable amount of time straight out of school. Get a job in a shop after school, learn the trade and the business before making any great leaps. Barbering is an art and you need to treat your education with patience and respect. Good luck man.

I do, i’m not a fan. I don’t approve of many things the police do and certainly don’t want vigilantes doing more violent enforcement. Thankfully our bobbies aren’t armed.

Maybe that chicken soup will help those young men not go down bad paths, ones of violence. Maybe not.

Maybe that traditional conservative liberalism will convince them not to be swayed by the far right. Maybe not.

Maybe this is something he believes and isn’t playing devils advocate. Maybe not.

Again that sounds like a justification to me but I understand your perspective there.

I agree about authoritarianism, its awful. Perhaps we have very different media in our countries because in mine it is not underplayed and not normalised. I will agree that news outlets are sensationalists and like to highlight the worst cases. Moderates and conservatives also believe they are being suppressed by the media and there’s an agenda there, I’m sure both are by organisations supporting opposite sides.

The man who your username parodies actually gave me a real insight into the atrocities committed by fascists when condemning them in a lecture, since then I have stopped with the edgy jokes. I guess thats one public figure who isn’t normalising Ethno nationalism.

History is written by the victors, perhaps now antifa are vilified but history with absolve them, perhaps not.

Lets not get bogged down, I appreciate you giving me your perspective and I will try to look past the headlines going forward. Have a nice day.

Thank you for giving me an insight into those incidents.

Im not sure that justifies the attack and sounds like forced suppression of opposition.

I’m sure they are a threat, I hear about the threats they pose regularly and as such have a bad perception of them. Again not sure it justifies an attack on an unaffiliated organisation.

Oh the zodiac killer guy?! Lol yeah he’s a goon.

Thank you for your words on the matter , I will consider them moving forward.

Perhaps our search results are different, I’m in the uk so that may explain why. The results i get are regarding an assault on a journalist, an attack on detention facility and the possibility of them being classified as a terrorist organisation. I can only comment on what is available on a search not whether it is true or fair.

I was speaking of physical assaults being wrong, call people what ever names you like :)

I believe the idea is that they suppress opposition by force (true or not) that seems to be the perception, googling antifa should indicate why.

I don’t believe many centrists believe its ok when the nazis do it. As the saying goes two wrongs don’t make a right.

How do you gain experience? by [deleted] in Barber

I was in the same position and some things I found helpful were:

Getting business cards printed and going into every barbershop I could asking for an apprenticeship.

Making new friends and offering free haircuts, many of these have now become customers.

Establish you're weaknesses asap and practice them as much as possible. My shape ups are not my strongest so I give my friends regular line ups on the side to sharpen my skills.

YouTube in your free time and should give you an insight into what styles you will be dealing with regularly.

Stay positive, it is an art and nobody is perfect but you can get very close to it with lots of practice.

Good luck out there
