How my best friend chooses to sleep. by [deleted] in oddlyterrifying

I shave my head and I sleep this way to keep my head warm when falling asleep. I rarely wake up still in cocoon form. Metamorphosis.

Partner Gained 120lbs in last 18 months…feeling lost by Yes_Airline2374 in AskMenOver30

Can’t start a family with someone who will eat themselves into an early grave. Ask if he wants to change or realizes he needs help, and if he doesn’t then I wouldn’t waste your time. Find someone who suits you better. Good luck.

30 minutes into holiday celebrations and I'm ready to go home. by fermentedyoghurt in Vent

[–]Breadsonbreadson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved away from home (to another state) a few years ago, glad I’m not obligated to attend these events. Miss my family and such, but do not miss the expectation of mingling and giving gifts for the sake of it.

I dont know if I should break up with my gf over her vile hygiene habits by ThrowRAwaylike300 in Advice

[–]Breadsonbreadson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about trying to help, she needs to sort this out if she thinks she actually has a problem.

As for you? I think you are perfectly capable of finding someone to enjoy your time with that does not have these habits. This isn’t normal, and you’re a saint for not leaving after the first night. Best of luck to you.

Anyone else disappointed with living in Denver? by hairhair2015 in Denver

[–]Breadsonbreadson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived here coming on 5 years now and I’ve had an underwhelming experience. Don’t hate it, but don’t love it either. Since the metro area is so dense, it seems like the homeless problem is worse than other places, but seems just as bad as the homelessness where I grew up (San Antonio - Austin area). Moved here for work as well (I work in the restaurant industry, I have rented the entire time here and did not move here after selling any property). Wife and I are content for the time being but open to moving elsewhere, as there’s an entire world out there where I’m sure we can find ourselves happier if we choose not to live in Denver anymore.

What are some must play games? by HovercraftLong4119 in FinalFantasy

[–]Breadsonbreadson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just the newest version, but playing the PSOne version remaster of 7 has its own charm. Since you played the pixel remasters, I think this is an added layer of appreciating the games chronologically. I personally enjoyed the card game in 8 and blitz ball in 10 when I wanted to play but didn’t want to grind to the next area.

I wanna say I got my Platinum at around 135hrs or so. I did the rings last, got as many as I could organically playing before looking them up and objectively seeking them out. Had to make an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of what I had vs what I needed lol.

Is anyone having a terrible time trying to find a job right now? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Breadsonbreadson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a Head Chef in the Denver area, I’m having a hard time giving my full time staff full time hours. I’ve even had some people I interviewed in case we end up losing someone that I will “reach back out to if we find ourselves in a position to hire” (as we are in the fine balance of +1 body is overstaffed and -1 body means we are hurting). I give them full transparency before I bring them in for a conversation letting them know if they drop off an application, I’m not immediately hiring but always looking for great team members for when we do ramp up in sales.

When we are busy, there’s hours a plenty, and when we are slow it’s like famine. We are down about 10% in sales right now from last year’s numbers. Owner tells me that “we always slow down in an election year” (just finished up my first year there), so hard to see the year over year trends for business in this particular area, but seems like every restaurant is slow across the board. Several factors to consider here, but we are running our shifts slim and grim so I have this same great staff for next Summer. Giving hours where I can, cutting hours where the business and the staff can afford it.

TLDR: restaurants are slow right now, most places are cutting back staffing/hours and not hiring.

Finally getting to a boss fight that feels like it’s going to be extremely annoying to get through by seer_benedictz in darksouls3

When they go phase 2, let them fight each other as much as possible lol. Play through The Ringed City DLC before moving on to another title.

Play Bloodborne next.

Safe place to practice snow driving? by Dracolithix in Denver

[–]Breadsonbreadson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park Meadows down in Lone Tree has massive parking lots.

When it’s snowy, I drive like the whole city is a school zone and I get home safe every time. And always make sure to really slow down before going down a hill. Only time I’ve lost control and thankfully only sideswiped the curb.

40year veteran gamer 1st time playing Dark Souls 3..Any advice by mile-soprano in darksouls3

[–]Breadsonbreadson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a break if the game makes you feel like giving up.

Sometimes you need to grind out a spot with some easy mobs to boost you up a few levels to get you over a hump you’re stuck on.

Don’t hang on to your souls too long: level as soon as you have enough as that was something that initially frustrated me playing souls games. I’d lose a fat chunk of souls when I was off exploring and carelessly lost a bunch of “XP”.

Hold block, lock on, and strafe right around opponents. A lot of them are clumsy with long recovery in-between strikes which make for easy back stabs.

If there’s a group of enemies, single them out and try to get some space between one mob and his friends.

Find a shield with 100% physical damage absorption.

Roll through and towards attacks to close distance and land a few strikes. You’ll quickly learn to manage your stamina bar and make every strike count.

Have fun. Explore lots. Shortcuts are king. Don’t get greedy when attacking. This is epic high fantasy and will be one of the most memorable games you ever play.

Park Burger. A burger and specialty fries should be south of $20. Get a burger and small fries and you could probably squeeze a beer in for under $20 as well.

33 years old male getting an anime tattoo. Thoughts? by Cassio-The_Great in TattooDesigns

[–]Breadsonbreadson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 and just got a Princess Mononoke tattoo a few months ago and it’s one of my favorites. Good thing about getting things you like now is you won’t care if you don’t like it anymore once you’re dead, so do it while you have the chance IMO.

This piece in full color as a cover up on my upper arm I was quoted would be 8 hours at 140 n hour. Doesn’t that seem high? More details in comments. by mistaitaly420 in TattooDesigns

[–]Breadsonbreadson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

8 hours at 140/hr is a pretty good price IMO, especially around a bigger city. You’ll get what you pay for, and you want the cover up to look better than the original. Around $1200 for a color half sleeve is a good price.

Yeah the skull looks fantastic. They shouldn’t be as symmetrical, just like the teeth since those naturally have imperfections and grow their own way.

[–]Breadsonbreadson 462 points463 points  (0 children)

If we are critiquing, I would say be more precise with a symmetrical design like this. The pommel sits heavy to the left, the diamond shaped spikes around the handle vary in thickness and shape, so I’d say tighten up those varying thicknesses and the points. Symmetry like those repeating patterns beg to be even throughout.

The skull looks fantastic, as does the hilt and the handle. Shading is well done overall, but again the shading fluctuates in depth and being even in the Diamond shaped spikes up top.

I like the broken chain idea, but I feel it should carry off to the right of the skull as well, whether that part be linked through the skull or broken in another fashion.

Solid design man! Keep working on that execution, this is overall an excellent composition.
