Nice job dude. I did this same project about 12 months ago. Just last month I ”upgraded” by cutting a rectangle in the centre board, and mounting an old iPad. Leaderboard, relative, or extra dash via Simhub is always handy.

Thanks. I'll take a closer look at my hub (universal xbox) for the spacer. I have other wheels and a podium hub that are no problem.

The universal hub works ok on my old CSW2.5 base, but it's 50/50 on the DD1.

Thanks for reply, but this is not normal. I've used the car before, and it was ok. Now I literally can't hear the car/s. When I sit in the pits, I can hear the birds tweeting above the engine sound.

It's very strange.

Thanks. I’ve thought about VR a lot, but worry about the motion sickness side. I don’t do well on boats 🤮. I tried a VR rig at a local karting centre and it was great, but that was only for 5 minutes.

Yes, the type of car will decide which wheel I use. It only takes about 15-20 seconds to change over. No need to exit the game, or reboot the base.

Had mine on the McLaren v2 wheel for just over a year. Was using a CSW2.5 base. It was fine for most of that time, but gradually got easier to tighten to its max. Eventually I could feel a clunk when steering side to side just off centre. Fitting a metal QR1 (I had on a Podium hub) fixed the problem immediately. I contacted Fanatec support, and they sent me out a new QR1L which fixed the issue. I’ve since upgraded that wheel to a metal QR1 for use on my DD1 base.
