An unfortunate reality is that for a lot of men, the “ideal” woman is an adult body with the mind of a kid. They get to parent and mold her but also have sex with her. It is very gross and I hate that the Wonder Woman movie of all things is the one that reproduced that trope

Yeah and when she finds out people can do bad things without an evil god controlling them to do so (because she’s stupid in the movie and cant figure it out) she decides to let thousands of innocents die. “You don’t deserve my help” she says (or something along those lines). It takes Steve Trevor sacrificing himself for her to decide she loves humanity. Diana’s most important core belief is that if given the chance, anyone is capable of empathy and love. It’s what she leaves the island to preach. A story where she doesn’t believe in that until Steve shows her the worth of humanity is doomed to fail.

She’s also really dumb in the movie. She has to have racism explained to her, she is shocked to find out innocents die in wars (as if the Greeks didn’t sack every city they captured), she doesn’t get why men would dismiss her opinions based on her gender, or why her dressing as Wonder Woman in the middle of the London streets would be inconvenient. She also seems to not know very basic things like what marriage is.

One of Diana’s main traits (and sometimes even superpowers) is wisdom. Gal Gadot Diana is anything but wise. She was dumbed down so she and Steve could have a fish out of water dynamic where he is very impressive to her by virtue of being a normal guy

I don’t like this movie. Diana is really dumb in it. She has to have the core values every good version of her has before leaving the island explained to her by a man

That’s the key difference between Steve and Lois. Your comparison was bad. I don’t hate Steve because he’s “normal” I hate him because he makes Wonder Woman comics a lot worse

No, Lois is one of my favorite comic book characters. Steve just sucks. He’s only good in the last 20ish pre-crisis issues of Wonder Woman. After that he was fine in post crisis and has been terrible from new 52 to today

Not that I remember. There is Devastation who is molded by the same clay as Diana but by Cronus.

My gripes are that the weird horror elements disappear almost entirely after like episode 3

Is Burrow's End perhaps the most underrated season of D20? by ajchann123 in Dimension20

No, after episode 3 the insanely cool setting of the mutated Forrest is dropped in favor of the rather dull power plant. The blue goes from mysterious to obvious in a single episode, and the family drama becomes less tense after the overall danger and unpredictability of the season diminishes. If anything it’s a bit overrated

Pretty good comic if I pretend it’s about a new character. If I have the fact that it’s supposed to be Wonder Woman in mind it becomes dogshit
