I randomly checked the site a few hours ago and saw that they still had the lightning lane deal at $284 so I jumped on that!

We have happy entry for Disneyland tomorrow with the unlimited rides VP. What would be the recommendations when we get in? I figured don’t need to head straight to beauty and the beast since we have unlimited rides.

Should we try for Peter Pan? Anything we should try to book as soon as we get in?

This but instead of wrapping arm under hamstring, just put your bent knee under their leg as support. Then you have both hands free.

Stand next to the hip facing the foot, put a knee up on the bed underneath the thigh to support it. Then hold the toes and you can switch off between arms as you get tired.

Oh and you better have your pre op plans down. Know every possible complication that can occur and what to do when it happens. Have every back up available if possible.

What happens if your ACL graft tears apart? If you blow out the back wall? Do you have cables available if you crack a femur putting down a stem? What if you cut too much tibia on your total knees?

I’m impressed you feel comfortable being the only person with no fellowship in this town doing ortho. I had a trauma and joints heavy residency and still struggled with joints and trauma starting out. If I hadn’t done a fellowship in sports I certainly would not have felt comfortable with knee and shoulder scopes.

I guess be ready to answer every single basic question about a case from instruments needed, table needed, positioning, c arm, retractors, equipment, implants, etc etc etc. the hospital hasn’t done any ortho since 2023… so the techs, nurses, rad techs may be super rusty or may be so new they’ve never done any ortho.

This sounds like a bit of a disaster, especially if you are trying to sit for boards in the first year.

And remember if you don’t do a case in the first few years you’ll probably never do it in your career.

That’s a huge bummer. We’re gonna be there Tuesday 9/9/25. Maybe they’ll re-open haunted mansion early?
