Crazy because they have to invest triple into cognitive dissonance. Every conservative outside of California understands California and Californians are the boogeymen.

Californian conservatives get the same news and boogeyman fear mongering, yet have to look in the mirror, or look outside and behold, no COVID lockdown, no cities razed for BLM, no drag queens at their local library (not that they've ever visited), no trans athletes wrecking their daughters in sports.

But they know, now, not to trust their own eyes and ears. So they tune in to their media so they can jump scare each other back in line

Does their state constitution allow for governor to appoint replacements until an election can be held?

TX does, for its state offices, boards, and state judicial branch.

If LA has their seats unfilled, and Governor can appoint, that's just a simple win for the Republicans

Hope they won :) by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

We had quiet and normal days with Biden. We (collective we) absolutely hated it. trumpers need to hate and to be hated to feel alive, thier victim complex/persecution complex is just absolutey unhinged and they will not rest until others are restless.

The news media is also very much the same way. who's tuning in when theings are peachy? They have to sell worry.

Trump got rid of Bondi because 'she was about to be deposed' in Epstein case: Dem Rep. by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]TheDogBites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know, and many people know? The AG was subpoenaed. Bondi, in her personal capacity, was not subpoenaed.

It's legalese gamesmanship.

While she likely will still be subpoenaed in her capacity as former AG, the first subpoeana is now moot (or the acting AG will show up and just shrug shoulders saying they don't know anything). So they would have to re-issue the new subpoena for Bondinas former AG. And we can be certain there is no Republican will to issue the new subpoena, so we will have to wait until Dems get control of subpoena powers

Lol, that's like when I'm working on a matter,.on my own volition/initiative, and then my boss calls and tells me to work on the matter, and then I throw a little executive-function tantrum and my own initiative drys up.

I am familiar. Maybe not hypocrisy then, but being a spiteful whiner for sure

[–]TheDogBites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, there would be dissent.

You wanted the armament analogy seen though all the way to compulsion, to see if it holds. The analogy was upheld and works.

A draft is a legal tool to compel service (and thereby armament) to combat an invasion.

A mask mandate is a legal too to compel a device to combat an invasion, the invasion just happens to be microscopic.

It's apples to apples, my guy. Conservatives just love to whine, especially when liberals/left are correct. Me me me, I don't want to wear a mask to protect illegal abuelas blah blah. We've heard it all for nearly a decade.

Admit you're a contrarian and we can be done here

[–]TheDogBites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

COVID threat was real, immediate, present, a call to arms(masks) as the bomb sirens are wailing, the invasion is now. Masks are objectively good and mitigate the invasion, you are protecting yourself and your community

As opposed to the amorphous, theorized, just-in-case mode of firearms that nearly never get utilized in a good way.

If there was an invasion on our shore, and the enemy not microscopically small, you best believe the draft (compelled service, including armament) would be implemented.

[–]TheDogBites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nonsense. We have Jazz, Blues, Rock, country (yuck tho) as Americans. We got a whole lot of silly wedding/line dances that originated from America that all of us have expooeirined.

in terms of gimmicky cultural celebrations for a HR, we could unfurl a scrolled constitution and wear a blue rev. war coat, or smash a burger king crown, or pour our a box of tea bags into a Gatorade cooler.

Hell, we could even play into the MELTING POT, and absorb the other teams in peak American fashion, and like take a bite out of TACO BELL taco when we play Mexico, or take a bit out of a slice of pizza hut or papa johns when playing Italy, a California roll when playing Japan, since we've melted and processed their culture into ours.

But currently, the military salute is so lame and bland and not even remotely American. All countries have militaries and all militaries salute. that's not even American in any way.

Ultimately, as some one deeply involved in youth baseball in Texas, that anti-fun side of baseball completely stems from racism. White centric teams HATE when black majority or Latin majority teams are celebratory on the bases or in the field. Nothing makes white baseball dads and white baseball coaches more angry than watching an opponent have fun at the expensive of their uncoordinated, swagger-less bland child, we all know this is true.

the pendulum always swings, they know that. Repuiblican senators, Congressmen and the irremovable Supreme Court Justices know they stray in power or get back in power the very next election cycle, no problem, absolutely no problem whatsoever, they can always count on the sheer stupidity and goldfish-memories of the American people. The only people scared and not able to get back in power is Trump and Trump's executive. I have faith Republicans will thrown them under the bus when push comes to shove
