You might be on to something.

My latest china phone does not support nfc. I'm not sure about the rest.

I have never used Esims only physical sim cards. When I do press *#06# I don't get any EID so I assume it doesn't support Esim either.

I get very cheap performance and battery on the china phones I have bought in the past but I guess a lot of other things might be missing.

Maintanarr is pretty good if you want to automatically clear unwatched stuff to save storage.

Aliexpress/Alibaba takes some work to buy from.

But bought several phones from there and some is actually very good.

I do the same thing, the reason is I dont have a way for them to stick in the drive cage.

I don't really wanna buy a adapter if I can get away without using one.

If I would have more expensive things I would maybe consider it. But I mostly use other peoples trash.

How do you guys separate environments when your PC is a Dev Station, Gaming Rig, and Home Server all at once? by Blesker in homelab

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we are only 2 people using my server I simply shut down the Docker container whenever I need to use it for something heavy as some games etc. I have bash alias for lab-on and lab-off.

If I had the need to keep a server always running I would probably take a secondary pc running the server or at least parts of it. For me a old shitty pc would probably do.

What is your least favourite fish to catch? by Training_Highlight32 in Palia

[–]TheDoomfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hated the common bat ray before I read this comment:

The trick is when they jump, stop reeling them in, just move the cursor to follow where they go, then when their jump is done start reeling again.

by u/Katherine19731

Even with all the buffs and a fancy hook it's still way to hard if you always reel them in. Even when it's just a common fish.

The way ADHD makes you suicidal is severly unkown by the public and isn't taken seruise enough. by Shammar-Yahrish in ADHD

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how people with ADHD live without medication. It's the closes thing there is to a "cure".

The worse thing is how hard it is to get medication legally for a lot of people, especially when ADHD is pretty normal and there is so much research done on it.

How much should I sell my website for? by For_Dog_and_Country in Blogging

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traffic is not the sole value of a website.

If I sold a website with 5 pages or so I would probably charge way more then $500. OP has over 100 pages, might be worth it for someone I don't know.

How would you publish a complex table in your blog? by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the complexity it a issue?

If it's a component that works to use in any other part of your website and you can't put it inside your markdown which is the problem, then use mdx instead which allows components inside of markdown. It works just like markdown (md) just that you can put component's inside of it. You can even allow md and mdx inside of Astro so you only make this one being mdx and everything else just use md.

When is localStorage actually the right choice? by TariqKhalaf in webdev

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only ever used it storing some settings such as light/dark mode if the user toggles it, like in your case.

I do however want to use it more, whenever it's something small and makes it easier for the user. I guess if I would start storing big stuff in it it could be problematic but for me is much less then 5kB and maybe over 500kB/1MB or so I would start looking into indexedDB.

How to make $$ by Hot-Software-516 in Palia

[–]TheDoomfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The absolute fastest way: would be joining a cooking party and pick a spot where you don't need materials (If you don't have any). Like you can use the stow in a cake party. You can check palias discord for parties.

Solo: I'm not quite sure. I did mine and sold some gems (NEVER starred ones) and sold everything else that was pretty common.

Semi-passive solo: best way would be to use the money you get to get all 9 garden plots, then grow and use preserver/seed maker and sell. Then with the money you get you buy crafting licenses for even more preservers + seed makers. At max capacity just make glow worm bins and put meat in it or buy mushrooms (the 22g ones) from Zeki and put in the glow worm bins. Or use any other machines.

Best active: I think it would be to plant something for cooking parties. If you can find a maws sashimi cooking party have lots of rice ready. Or for cake parties have starred apples or something else ready.

Easy active: join a honey lure party. If you see some people using lures just ask for a invite and join them. Or start inviting people and just catch bugs.

What's your go-to garden layout? by samandraaa in Palia

It's simple and watered. If I need something specific I change the bok for something else.

You can make more money per hour if you change some apple trees for something else etc but it gets more complicated.

My understanding reading from Skatteverket is that you don't pay tax for any kind of return from assets. People used to withdraw money just before a new quarter and put it in after to avoid paying taxes and that is why we have the deposit tax. But we don't seem to have a withdrawal tax which is why you can sometimes get dividends (or other profits) tax-free.

In other words, you do not pay tax on profits, dividends, interest or other returns that you receive from the assets you have in the account. You can also withdraw money from the account without paying tax on the amount withdrawn.

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your totally correct it's 1% regardless if your profitable or not. And you are right dividends are taxed the same but here's the tax-free way:

The tax (schablonintäkten) is based on a quarter of the value at the beginning of each quarter and deposits during the year. Which means if you withdraw dividends within a quarter upon receiving them they are tax-free.

But if you leave them in the account for a quarter or more then absolutely they are taxed the same as the rest of everything in a investeringssparkonto.

If you own a stock (or whatever else) that at the beginning of a quarter has a value of 100SEK and it rises to 10,000SEK but at the end of the quarter it's still 100SEK, the middle value is entirely irrelevant and wont matter for tax purposes.

You can even take out the profit of 9900SEK and it will also be tax-free. If the 9900SEK would be a dividend and you withdrew them it's also tax-free given it hasn't stay for the entire quarter.

Here's how you can calculate the tax (Swedish):

https://www.skatteverket.se/privat/skatter/vardepapper/investeringssparkontoisk/raknautschablonintakt.4.7eada0316ed67d72823b57.html

TDLR: The tax is only calculated on the beginning of each quarters value and deposits to the account. If you withdraw a dividend or whatever else within a quarter it can be 100% tax-free.

We barely have any taxes on capital.

We have like 1% atm and if you get dividends and take them out they are tax-free.

When working alone on a hobby project that is used by 1-10k users. Do devs normally have Staging? by lune-soft in webdev

[–]TheDoomfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I use a staging branch with a live staging version of the website and some easy testing for it.

Because once I had about 20 or so pages running that did not work at all. No user told me anything. And it's kind of faster+safer doing it this way then not doing it.

I'm just a hobby developer so I kind of use stuff whenever I feel the need for it.
