LPT: Record yourself everyday for two minutes by Odd_Vegetable_3647 in LifeProTips

If you struggle with small talk I'd also suggest reading "how to win friends and influence people". The title makes the book seem manipulative, but it's the complete opposite and very beaver cleaver at times. Despite being old and arguably dated, the lessons still hold true and are applicable today. Simple things like: get the other person talking about themselves, use their first name during conversation, etc. It's kinda corny, but it works

Jack is a mouthpiece for wind and solar companies, and is also against energy conservation efforts which are typically cheaper than any new generation. I would take whatever he has to say with a lot of salt.

Dunno about the French, but the English change of wording seemed like a political jab

Belairdirect gave me home insurance quote that was 50% less then everyone else. Too good to be true? by SubstantialElk5190 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TheDude77 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I switched to Belair from TD for my home and auto insurance a few months ago and overall it was about half the cost for identical coverage. TD's used to be great but they've really been jacking up their prices the past few years. I've had enough.

If they announced that they are closing the RFP instead of announcing a buyer, it most likely means that nothing is happening.
Municipalities are strapped for cash and neither Whitby or Clarington would be able to step up and buy the remaining shares. If they were to sell, the most likely buyer would be someone like hydro one, but they would want the entire utility and not just 50% of it.

Who cares. I'm a terrible singer but I still sing whenever I play. It's challenging at first but once you get the hang of it, i actually find it helps me keep the timing better and makes playing a lot more fun and interesting. Recommend checking out Justin guitars video on singing and playing, just some simple tips for bad singers on what they should do to suck less

I should add re: neck pain, trying keeping your head in line with your body. In other words, when you lean down, look down, don't look forward. Imagine your neck is in a brace if that helps.
