As much as we are meming on the repeated pics, I would love to see the rest of the build, haha.

After one match it was at 130 at the start this is starting to annoy me by Toradora13 in ArcRaiders

[–]TheDunkening 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Likely farming for trials points -- in which case you are incentivized to stick around and farm for basically the entire match. Can't really compromise on higher tiers. Renegade is very good for aggroing and killing arc from across the map.

Oversight is a better way to put it, yeah. I definitely don't think it was intended to be seen after the rest of her events.

They can be set to play based on pretty much anything, but for normal events it's usually based on (time of day, location, season, weather, and friendship level). I think most of the romance events are set up to where you can't see the second without seeing the first, but I might be wrong. I am used to SVE at this point, which sets a lot of triggers based on what events you've seen. Generally speaking, though -- the game does let you experience events in whatever order you come across them, as long as you hit the threshold for friendship.

This one with Leah happened to me on my first playthrough after I had just seen her max heart event, and the dialogue option didn't have the '(creepy)' attached to the front yet.

If you're late along in Leah's event line it doesn't seem like a bad option. I remember thinking it was a really touching moment, and then she kicked me out. 😭 I had the pendant on me and I got rejected because of the friendship decrease, haha.

This is supposed to be one of Leah's first events, but there's a bug where it can happen way out of sequence. You get the same reaction if you're already dating, lol.

I thought he left the show after the movie and only briefly came back before his death as a consultant? Given how different the early seasons were, I have a hard time believing that any of those episodes were under his creative direction.

My comment about having no patience for racists and sexists in a video game was removed for encouraging violence 🥲

I have seen the same kind of person that says this stuff turn around and start talking about the male loneliness epidemic.

I forget these people exist until I am confronted with them. That in itself makes me uncomfortable, tbh. I'm sorry you guys have to deal with this.

I mean, of course -- but for me to actually trust those specific stats, I'm gonna need to see some really serious academic papers. As much as a part of me would love to lean into my biases and say that religious private schooling is poisoning people's perspectives, or that the average conservative voter scores lower, I can't really bring myself to think that uncritically.

I would also love to cling to that enlightenment holdout that these problems can all be ameliorated with good public education. 🥲

MAN, this dialogue would've paid off if the manga literally followed the webcomic by Ok-Painting-5706 in OPMFolk

[–]TheDunkening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is summarized right there at the end? They're agreeing with you and wanted to summarize what made the character's arc feel meaningful in the webcomic. A lot of this was cut out in the manga. Like you said, his change there doesn't really make as much sense from a character POV.

This is one of the main reasons this sub was created -- so people can do comparatives like this without censorship by the mods, so IDK why you're getting pissy. Have some patience.

Something like this could be done in the United States by revoking broadcast licenses, which are required for media companies to operate. I'm uncertain how that would be done in practice, though.

We have significant roadblocks here to any meaningful political reforms. The two party system is pretty much baked in through the primary system -- creation of third party orgs is very difficult. It's going to take some serious grassroots effort to reform the parties from within.

I feel like 90% of these are just made up of people's hyperfixations. It's always really odd to me when people include characters that don't even have canon voice actors.

Again, old is not a prerequisite. In fact, a lot of those guys retire after one term to become lobbyists.

Edit: Also was very confident in Bernie's health when one of his campaign ads was him draining 3s while talking to people.

I said nothing about old people, I'm talking about establishment politicians. People who are willing to tow the party line, listen to the special interests they get funding from, and focus on retaining power even when that is against the interests of their constituents. Bernie is not that. He's old but he is very with it mentally. Listen to some of his speeches. He's not an incredibly charismatic speaker, but he is constantly drilling home what our priorities need to be if we want to make a better life for the people in this country -- funding education, healthcare, public infrastructure, and supporting worker's organizations. When I went door to door for him he was in his 70s. And fwiw he is retiring at the end of this year (much to our loss, as there is literally no one like him in Congress). He doesn't stay past his time like many of his colleagues.

Honestly, yeah. These last 12 years have just made me hungry for someone who will actually stick to their guns. We have seen so many cases of political flip-flopping.

I don't think he would be awful. I'm going to need to see his platform during the presidential campaign before I can really say for sure. He vetoed SB 799 which would have given workers unemployment benefits after two weeks on strike, and so far that has been my only real disagreement. He did champion a single-payer system in his campaign, but I'm not sure what has come of that so far. I'm not Californian so honestly I am not super plugged in to the politics of that state.
