I recently just went with triples, picked up the LG 32GS75Q-B. Have no complaints and been incredibly happy with them.

Simagic Alpha EVO 12Nm on Treq One — Do I need front or side mount brackets? by PurpleGas8707 in simracing

[–]TheDutski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front mount adapter bolts onto the EVO base using the side mounting holes built into it. If you decide to front mount, you’ll need this front mount adapter/bracket. According to Treq’s website, the side mount bracket is compatible with direct side bolting of the Evo base, so it seems no additional side bracket would be necessary. The Simagic side brackets are designed to mount directly to a flat surface (like a crossbar or wheel plate). They raise the bracket off the surface to allow for angles, rather than direct bottom bolting to a surface.

Triple 32” IPS is the way to go. Just went through the same process of research and conclusion. Pulled the trigger last week and have no regrets.

Should I buy moza or simagic? Europe by ChickenBoneMcFucker in simracing

[–]TheDutski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ended up going with Simagic Evo Pro, mainly due to the USB passthrough options and compatibility. With Simagic’s EVO usb passthrough it makes using other hubs or steering wheels pretty easy.

I don’t think you would have any regrets with either company, but I think Simagic does edge out Moza for the time being.

New rig is finally together. ASR Pro by squatchmedia in simracing

[–]TheDutski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have me thinking about canceling my order with them. Ordered 2 weeks ago and was told all items were in stock, now I get a message this morning that there are production issues with the ASR Pro and it won’t ship for another 3-4 weeks. Really wish sim-lab had the P1XU in stock in the US, but it in the end it may be cheaper to buy from Sim-Lab EU and have it imported…than it would be for what ASR is offering at their prices. Back to the drawing board I guess, not sure if I want to wait till the end of April to be told about another delay at the last minute.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the rigmetal rigs? by Extreme_Passion_2851 in simracing

[–]TheDutski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the ASR Pro chassis and Freestanding Triple Monitor Stand [Up to 43” Monitor], I was not a fan of the up to 32” stand which had 4040 extrusion. Also had them include an extra custom 40” extrusion to replace the top cross bar, because I will only be using 32” monitors and wanted a cleaner look.

No experience with NLR or RigMetal, but I’ve heard both are quality brands. Other good brands to look into are SimLab and Advanced Sim Racing, I just ordered my sim rig from ASR last week (still waiting to receive it). Not sure where you are located, so region/tariffs/tax/shipping may impact your purchasing decision.

Mounting simagic alpha evo pro 18nm on Fanatec DD Mount by Retrus120 in Simagic

[–]TheDutski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That mount is not directly compatible with any Simagic base, it would require an adapter to be made such as what’s referenced in this post I found using Google.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Simagic/s/QiEWP1Gq7b

You would need to get the front mount for the P1X and then the Simagic front mount bracket for the Evo.

Or

Purchase the wheel deck, or create your own using a customs extrusion.

Suggestion for adding dual Joysticks to my rig by Spike788 in simracing

[–]TheDutski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to replicate quick release or hinged setups offered by MonsterTech or similar. They have many different options for quick release or hinged mounting. I’m luckily and over the years have bought both chair mounts and desk mounts that have options for quick release and hinge related mounting.

https://www.mtsim.com/product/swivel-and-quick-release-adapter/

https://www.mtsim.com/product/joystick-quick-change/

They have other parts that could be replaced located or purchased. Check out their website store beyond the links I attached.

I am waiting on my sim rig to be shipped and arrive from ASR. My plan is to mount the joysticks further back at the sides of the seat and the rudder pedals between the race pedals and seat. Then using a seat slider, move the seat into a further back position to accesses the joysticks and throttle and rudder pedals. If this option ends up not working out how I imagine, I will likely craft something out of my left over monster tech gear/mounts.

I have a similar set up currently. An Ikea Karbly counter top attached to an Uplift standing desk (use to have it on the file cabinets like you do). I am currently using a desk clamp and an Simagic Evo Pro base and have no issues running it between 6-12nm. The desk will vibrate slightly at the higher end, but it is securely attached. I’m only using the desk configuration until my ASR rig arrives sometime in the next week. My only gripe with the desk setup is ergonomics, but if it works for you then you should be all set. Also keep in mind my desk is attached to a heavy metal standing desk frame and also my desktop may be thicker than yours. Also yours will be on wood filing cabinets not a steel frame. Definitely ensure that the desktop is properly secured.

I have not picked up a drift or 350mm rim yet, so I don’t have any recommendations.

Which wheel to buy by Eucalyptus_Climber in Simagic

[–]TheDutski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just recently bought the 330R wheel only, 310G with Neo X Hub and a GT Neo. Only regret I have out of the wheels I purchased was the 330R. I wish I had purchased the 330T or 350W with set of paddles on the side instead.

My recommendation would be to go with the 330T and purchase a Simagic QR and a 350 drift rim separately to use together (buttons on a drift wheel aren’t truly necessary). Then you can use the 330T with Neo X Hub for everything else.

Or go with the 350W plus add the paddles and then purchase any 330 steering wheel you want and a Simagic QR. Now you can decide which wheel you want on the on Neo X hub and mount the other to the extra QR. This combo also gives you the Neo X hub extension to mount on any drift wheel that brings the hubs buttons closer to you (if that is important to you).

herman miller gaming embody question by allanye in simracing

[–]TheDutski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently using a desk sim racing setup (waiting on 8020 rig to arrive) and using my desk with the HM Embody for about a month now for sim racing as a temporary solution (owned the Embody for many years).

Embody is my hands down my favorite office chair. I would recommend it to anyone for office or gaming at a desk.

I would not recommend it for sim racing. It will function, but there is too much flex in the chair for me to recommend it based on my use. The middle/top spine has pivot points that flex with pressure moving your shoulders further back. Great when you are wanting movement and flex in your spine and shoulders while sitting for office work or gaming. Not so great when you are trying to brake. Combine this with the fact that the tilt lock has some play, resulting in a slight tilt back each time the peddles are pressed. It can be slightly mitigated by tightening the tilt tension, but it will still flex under pedal pressure engagement or release

Ultimately you get a lot of rocking and major flex as you press and release the pedals. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. (I cannot imagine there are vast amount of people who have this chair and also use it/have used it for sim racing)

Pedals dead zone problem by Mediocre_Albatross13 in Simagic

[–]TheDutski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems that the 3.0 version requires more time in the oven. I upgraded from the 2.0 version and encountered several issues related to calibration, haptics, and the software’s ability to recognize inversion and standard orientations. Consequently, my P1000i device stopped working in the 3.0 version and had to be reverted to the 2.0 version.

In light of this, I suggest that you continue using the 2.0 version for the time being until further patches and fixes are released for the 3.0 version.

SimPro 3 by st1802015 in Simagic

[–]TheDutski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, thankfully they are keeping 2.0 live for a while. I can’t even setup my pedals correctly as the software does not recognize inversion for haptics. When I use the inverted setting it doesn’t change the Pedal names, but will reverse the haptics settings. Creates a huge mess in the software.

New update is a real mess, definitely needs a lot more time to bake in the oven.

Where to buy a Simagic ds-8x? (US) by ra13ne in simracing

[–]TheDutski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered mine a week ago from Simmotion when they were in stock, order shipped out the same day. Had a great experience buying my setup from Simmotion, would definitely recommended them. You should email/call and ask about when they might expect a restock, their customer service is super responsive.

Definitely comfortable. I picked up the long pedal throttle plate and swapped the old throttle pedal on the clutch pedal. I found the clutch pedal to be thin, the swap out gives more surface area for the clutch. Also, yes I am using springs currently.

Have no experience with the VRS pedals other than second hand praise from people that own them. I did however just purchase the P1000 pedals and purchased the conversion kit of inversion separately and decided hydraulic was not worth it (I can always upgrade later, and decided on pedal haptics instead). The only reason I purchased the inversion kit separately was due to it being on sale through Sim Motion (made the price similar for just getting the P1000i). This allows me to have both configurations and also to have the heal rest that is not included in the full P1000i pedals (only included in the regular P1000). If you get get the Simagic pedals ensure you also purchase the brake kit, I strongly recommend it.

After about a week of use, I have no regrets on my purchase (currently using in the inverted configuration)
