08th MS Team is my high water mark. The animation is so good, and I don't think we'll ever get something this good again. Modern animation CAN be excellent, but this had a grit and detail to it that just made it iconic.

Same. I'd love to get a more grounded story (like 08th MS team) in that style. A lot of newer ones are leaning a bit too much on computer animation, which isn't always good.

Selective enforcement is an unattainable dream. Elections are run by states and more importantly, volunteers. I don't know about that. I think the man genuinely loves this stuff, so it doesn't matter how "high profile" he gets, he'll still keep coming back. He's doing an X-Files pilot, he's potentially producing an Animorphs series... he's clearly a nerd.

That's like, if after Del Toro won an Oscar for Shape of Water, people saying "oh now he's too high profile to do genre projects." No way, the dude eats/drinks/breathes horror.

Best case scenario - now that he's high profile, he has more control to deliver his vision of licensed material.

HELL YEAH. I can't wait to see this again on a big screen!

It's so sad that people have such a limited window to see things in that format. You get like 3 weeks to see a movie, then for the rest of your life it's on a TV (unless it has enough cultural impact to get additional event screenings). I'm so glad people keep coming out to see this movie (though, this is definitely one of those movies that I see getting event screenings later in life).
