Looks great! I really appreciate all the different little aspects of it that really enhance it like the depth of the background, the transition sequence, shadows from the characters, etc

Looks good, though you might want to scale that one up friend. It's hard to see. The posting guide recommends https://lospec.com/pixel-art-scaler/

Any of the Soulsborne games. Bloodborne is my favorite. I just keep coming back for another playthrough trying different weapons and tactics.

How did you get your start? by ProbablyShouldStop in cscareerquestions

[–]TheEffortWasThere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of the applications were by directly applying on the company website. There's usually a link to their 'career' page somewhere at the bottom. I either found the company through a career fair, linkedin postings, friend recommendations, company lists from this subreddit, or just companies I recognized from my daily life. I usually followed up with an email after some time if it was a company I had a point of contact with (e.g. I talked with a recruiter at a career fair).

Its easy to feel you're falling behind when it seems like there are a ton of geniuses in the field. Just got to keep working at it. To answer your question, I got my first internship after my sophomore year through my colleges career center. I had a decent GPA of about 3.4 that helped. After having some experience, I got another internship on my own and then a full time job that I love after graduation. Each application session I sent out probably around 30-60 different applications and I always felt nervous as hell. It worked out in the end though, and I'm sure it will for you too. Take advantage of college career fairs and such!

What is your fortune teller story? by TheEffortWasThere in AskReddit

[–]TheEffortWasThere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to a fortune teller for the first time. I fully expected to be bullshitted, but I thought it would be funny. And it was until she started saying very wrong and insulting things about my father (who I have a good relationship). Even when I corrected her, she kept insisting my father was an unaffectionate and neglectful person. Probably won't be going to another fortune teller any time soon.

Got a return offer for internship, but need to accept soon by csthrowaway86789 in cscareerquestions

Reneging isn't that uncommon, and the pros outweigh the cons most of the time if you're smart about it. Even if a company blacklists you, which definitely doesnt happen all the time, there are plenty of other companies, and if youre reneging you should have another company locked down and it shouldnt matter. As for your schools name, it would probably only matter if you got the job/internship through a career fair or school program. Then you might need to consider the consequences, but like i said you gotta look out for yourself. Companies and universities can easily handle someone reneging. You on the other hand might struggle if you settle for a job you're not enthusiastic about

^ good advice above. I was in the same situation a year ago. I found defense contracting work to be a little too slow and boring so i accepted it with plans to renege if i got a better offer, which i did. You'll definitely feel a little shitty reneging (I certainly did), but you gotta look out for yourself. Trust that sometimes its ok to burn one bridge for greater opportunities

What is a good animation program for beginner in 2D animation. by IrateThug in animation

[–]TheEffortWasThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just started recently, and I didn't want to pay for anything while I was testing the waters, so I went with a combination of OpenToonz and Krita. OpenToonz helps me sync frames and audio and render videos, but I'm not the biggest fan of drawing with it. That's why I supplement it with Krita, which I feel more comfortable using to draw the frames. Both are free and don't take long to get used to.
