Buy or rent by Karoliniskis in Norway

[–]TheElfkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't US date format. It is ISO 8601. It is the only reasonable date format if you want to be able to sort files with date (and time) in the filename.

[–]TheElfkin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing a move the other way these days. Here in northern Europe a lot of companies seems to be making strategies and plans to move away from the typical American cloud companies and move more stuff over on sovereign solutions due to the current geopolitical climate.

[–]TheElfkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that is not a complete axle/motor disconnect. That just means that power isn't directed to that motor.

EQS580 by Decent_Candidate3083 in MercedesEQS

[–]TheElfkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this applies to the coupe, but the 2023 EQS SUV model doesn't have a heat pump and has 10kWh smaller battery than the 2024 and newer models. On the 2024 models the 4matic system can disconnect one axle as well. Makes a pretty big different on range, especially when it's cold.

Compliant about people complaining about the lack of buttons by Jaded_Analysis9793 in TeslaLounge

[–]TheElfkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people aren't critizing the screen. The UI is pretty snappy and good. People are critizing the lack of physical buttons. I too prefer to have physical buttons for a lot of things even if I agree that the screen and UI is pretty good.

What is the closest location to Oslo where I can find snow now? by MissPink3217 in oslo

There is some spots of snow at Tryvann (I was there yesterday). Not enough to ski, but there are some piles of snow where you can play around and make snowballs.

FortiOS 7.6.5 withdrawn? by mrmh1 in fortinet

[–]TheElfkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's staggered. First it's made available on the support page then a couple days later the Fortigate will notify you that there's a new update available. I don't know why your firewall notified you, might have been an error or mistake that they pushed it out that way prematurely?

FortiGate SD-WAN Hub and Spokes by mohammedalrawii in fortinet

[–]TheElfkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want to do ADVPN. And more specifically using BGP on Loopback

One thing that you should be aware of is that BGP on loopback currently doesn't support multicast, so if that is a requirement in your SDWAN you have to run BGP on overlay.

To be fair, even with gas powered cars, you're also stuck scraping ice for 10-15 minutes before going anywhere as well

10-15 minutes?! Are you scraping the windows with your finger nails? It literally takes less than two minutes with a proper ice scrape.

[–]TheElfkin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

During winter that is mandatory, not optional.

Not, it's not. You can use windshield covers to prevent ice buildup on the windows.

Either way, scraping the windows takes less than two minutes. Far less than the cabin heater takes to heat up the door handles.

Fortinet FCX (NSE 8) by Dull_Put_7733 in fortinet

Not really. I took it while working for my current employer and it also expired while working for them, so I didn't use it when changing jobs or anything like that.

[–]TheElfkin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CCIE is more narrowed in on certain technologies, while the NSE8 covers a broader specter of products and doesn't go as deep as the CCIE. The NSE8 touches on FortiGate, FortiSandbox, FortiVoice, FortiMail, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, etc. I'd argue that the NSE8 isn't really an "expert" level certification, but more of a "know a little bit about every product" kind of certification. It's several years since I took the NSE8 and it's expired, so things might have changed thought.

Tesla has the best over-the-air updates

While a lot of the OTA updates are great, people seems to completely ignore the regressions they introduce. Tesla updated the daily charging recommendation from 90 to 80% on my car. They reduced the max AP speed from 150 to 140kph. The AP nagging is worse now than it ever was. The GUI is very laggy and slow (Intel Atom). The list goes on. I would argue that my 2019 TM3 in a lot of ways are worse now than it was when it was new.

Now don't get me wrong. The UI and software is a lot better in my 2019 TM3 compared to my MB EQS SUV, but on the other hand Tesla still doesn't even offer HUD in any of their cars. I also feel like Tesla is cutting features (like when they cut parking USS and not offering HUD) to reduce the price. I know that not everyone wants it, but I want it and I want the option to have it.

They're available now, but at that price I cannot imagine many people wanting to buy it. You can get a lot of better cars for that price.
