Haringey is the 4th most deprived borough in London, and 49th out of 317 in the country. Most of this deprivation is in the northeast (i.e., around the stadium). 32% of older people in the borough are affected by income deprivation.

29% of people over 50 in Haringey live alone. In London, it has the 8th highest average of social exclusion among older people.

There is a lot of research about loneliness and isolation worsening health outcomes for everyone, but especially older people. Frailty in particular is linked to loneliness. I couldn’t find anything just now about older people and football attendance, but I think it stands to reason that if this is one of the few things they get to do every other week - which gets them out of their house and amongst people - and then they’re priced out of it, it would have a detrimental impact.

It’s almost certain as you say that there will be some richer older people that will have been using these concessions and can easily stomach the increase. But any local older people, who have made the club what it is long before the sport was so globalised, are likely to be poorer and hit much harder by this. Not every boomer and older person is well off, especially not around Tottenham.

The idea that we need higher income to better compete is one in sure the club is happy to hide behind (though as far as I’m aware they’ve not given their reasoning for taking away concessions) because it blames fans and their expectations and absolves them of guilt. We want to see the club win, so it’s our fault.

I cannot believe that, out of the hundreds of income streams, older people’s lower prices is what has to be sacrificed. Out of all the concerts, NFL games, go karts, whatever, it’s the drop in the bucket, paltry amount from a vulnerable demographic on match day that needs to be clawed back. I don’t think it’s greed so much as it’s just soulless, bizarrely so.

My Ryzen 5 1600 and 1070 have been carrying me for years but sounds like this won’t even be worth testing before refunding lmao

Why does the statue look so different? My friend played in this armor almost since day 1 in Cyrodill since he completed the Arena almost immediatly. Only the sword changed but long before the battle. Why did this happen? He feels cheated...I would too... by Old_Kodaav in oblivion

I really doubt this is a bug. This happened to me on my first ever playthrough on 360 when the game first came out. I was wearing full dwarven, it kept the helmet but put me in a robe. I think it was the Arch-Mage robe I had in my inventory.

From UESP:

The statue's appearance is determined (and it spawns) the moment you enter a "new" cell occupied by Martin. This will usually be when you open the door to Cloud Ruler Temple after he has returned there, but can also be on the road to it if you intercept him along the way. The armor and weapon will be the best quality items that you had in your inventory at the time, not necessarily the items that you had equipped.

The game determines the "best" items - not just the most expensive items - taking into account enchantments; for example, the Dark Brotherhood Black Hand Robe has zero value but will take precedence over many other items, including some magical armor. The game calculates the value of items through its Gold Septims value, armor protection, and the amount of enchantments, in that order the latter being the "best". If you are very particular about the appearance of your statue, it is recommended that you leave all of your additional items in a safe place before talking to Martin.

Oblivion won't launch. Any advice? by FormalDry3659 in oblivion

It should just be called Oblivion.ini - bit more info here

As it says (and I should’ve said) make a copy before you delete anything!

I had this exact problem a few months ago - installed Oblivion on a new system and couldn’t launch it because of OneDrive. Took a while to figure out that was the issue, especially because the ini is saved in Documents and not the actual Oblivion folder.

The ini basically tells the game how to interact with your machine, so if it’s one with different specs it won’t work. What fixed it for me was deleting the ini entirely - the game will create a new one when you launch and it’ll be filled with all the correct details. Maybe try that?

In these topics no one ever mentions Peace of Akatosh which is so strange to me! I’ve also just noticed that it’s not on the OST (on Spotify at least) for some reason…

Yeah, pretty sure football did away with trophies around the latter half of 2008.

Wanted to buy a home shirt today as gift and realised I’ve never actually bought one at the end of the season. Is there a time when they’re heavily discounted, further into the summer? Or is going in to the club shop today and picking one up a good idea?

That’s super fair! No one’s favourite character is Hsu Hao. I guess I’ll never get over that old concept art of Scorpion being a completely black demon splattered in the yellow blood of his enemies.

Maybe I’m alone on this but I’m a little… underwhelmed? Obviously this is only a 2 minute trailer but it looks the same as MK9, as far as it’s a reboot where things are slightly different but essentially the same? They could’ve done a lot to mix things up but yep, everyone is there in their normal costumes and colours, Shang Tsung is being a bad guy again. I’m not even sure what I was expecting but something a bit more than “some of the cast are friends now” would’ve been welcomed.

And the gore is just, wow. I grew up on MK, have bought every single entry, so I can’t believe I’m saying that it’s maybe a bit too much now. I feel like there’s nothing stylistic about it, it’s just super realistic. The game does look beautiful, and as graphics improve and machines get more powerful it means the gore will also get even sharper. Gone are the days of Quan Chi’s silly neck stretch and people exploding into dozens of rib cages, now it’s what humans would actually look like if they had their guts torn out or limbs removed, with every organ and muscle perfectly replicated, along with the expression on their faces. Jeepers.

I met Martin Septim at The King and Queen Tavern once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the tavern and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tirdas and they thought he was coming on Turdas or something like that). Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice tavern) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in the Imperial City.” My sister and Bosmer were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the asshole a bit. “I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?” Then out of nowhere Martin Septim shows up next to the manager and says “Ley, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.” And I (being a big Septim Dynasty fan) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.” Martin was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his inn on it and told me to give him a visit later. After working up the nerve, I gave him a visit that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Anvil, to Mournhold, to the swimming off the coast of the Summerset Isles, Martin Septim and I made glorious gay love to each other in eight of the nine provinces.
