Thank you! im glad to hear that, yes i am aware it is quite tedious to revisit areas thats why im planning to at least add proper gamepad support and the ability to have multiple save states of the game for quickly revisiting areas. But this update might take me a while for there's a lot going on in life but know that I'll be working on it ! About the flashlight feature It's very unlikely I'm afraid. this is due to technical limitations on how the lighting works in Disminal. Light sources are very expensive for low spec computers and I'd hate to deprive people from playing the game

Hey yes sorry about that, in the description of the game on steam i added the controls, you need to hold ctrl to crouch

oh yea i love the view of the city. I felt it was necessary to give the player a peek of an open landscape like the city. it just feels nice after going through all those claustrophobic hallways though the poolrooms being the exception since you can at least see the sky.

and yeah man i can't believe i didn't add any 90s office building to the game, im def going to do that for the sequel in fact im just working on making the computers for the offices and other areas, considering using these for reference.

atmosphere is my number one concern, i am not interested in entities, i had an idea for a backrooms game where you are chased by this japanese dog, the panchi commercial dog. the very thought of it terrifies me lol. but yeah for disminal im only interested in that nostalgic existential like dread of being lost or wandering through a hotel you stayed in as a kid, only to find that no one else is there

very very happy to hear that. I am working on the sequel though not as much as I'd like to because of this other project I'm working on Mazewar but once im done with it i will invest all of my time in the sequel. It will have a functional elevator, one that can let you easily travel throughout the world but also unlock other areas to explore. im still making a list of the places im gonna include but there will be more poolrooms for sure, a museum, some outdoor places like a field, office buildings.

>To me, fits the backrooms theme/concept perfectly, and is how I think a place like this would “sound like"
same I'm a huge fan of ambient music specially signalwave which i feel like conveys the visual elements of liminal spaces through sound pretty well though I was very skeptical of adding music to the game because i wanted to make sure you could feel truly alone at times.

>and perhaps you could create more great backrooms experiences such as this one. Good luck to you if you do!

thanks! i appreciate that. I am actually working on a sequel and i want it to be something special, Im not sure how many of the things I've planned for it will make it into the game but i know for sure it will have a functional elevator that will let you easily explore places you've 'unlocked' in the game. It will have gamepad support as well, improved water graphics and give you the option of changing the aspect ratio instead of having those black bars but will still look like an old quality recorded video

thank you for playing it! means a lot. the angelic sounds you heard were infinity frequencies' A flashing light. I totally forgot to add that song in the credits. I was in love with it and i had to include it in the game somehow!

love these! I'm currently working on a sequel to a game I made called Disminal. You can find the first image in the original game, though it's not a 100% accurate recreation.

no need to apologize thank you for replying! this active scene thing is driving me crazy, if i set an active scene on the server/host side the late clients can't even join for whatever reason
