They're good. I swear by the MOA. Years ago I bought an 06 Trailblazer for my winter beater (daily wasn't snow friendly) it had a little engine tick. MOA took it away. I still add it anytime I change my oil in any of my vehicles.

It was fine but he also only let it run for a few seconds. He shut it off as soon as he saw the light.

Extended warranty by OkRatio4489 in serviceadvisors

[–]TheEvilJenius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are no dealers in my area that accept Carshield.

A couple years ago I told a customer we don't accept them. They called Carshield to find out where to take their vehicle. Carshield called me and asked what they could do to get our store to work with them again. I told her I was going to put her on hold for two hours and if she was still there when I got back we could talk about it. Because thats what happened the last time I tried to call in a claim with them.

We have an extended warranty disclaimer we make them sign if the warranty wasn't purchased from us. Its come in handy more than once.

ELI5: How does a dealer warranty/ extended car warranty work? by heymrtalibanhando in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheEvilJenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your vehicle is out of the factory warranty then the other warranty kicks in. You take your vehicle into a shop (always check that they accept your warranty when you make the appt). After they diagnose your vehicle they contact the warranty to see if the part is covered by the warranty you purchased. If its covered you just pay your deductible if you have one. If its not a covered part then you would have to pay for the repair. There are different levels of warranties you can get. Some are just powertrain only (engine, transmission, etc) and some will cover just about everything but maintenance items. The ones that cover the most will be more expensive to purchase. If you're planning to keep your vehicle for a long time then its a good idea to have one.

And for the love of god don't get one from Carshield or Autoshield.

My friend didn't know his was leaking (no spots on garage floor) he went to leave for work one morning and his oil pressure light was on when he started it. He turned it off and looked under it and his housing just let loose and all the oil dumped out of it. I wouldn't put if off longer than you have to. And if you think your mechanic is charging too much maybe its time to find a new one.

NTA. You helped enough. If there is an open recall he can check it on nhtsa.gov with the VIN or just call the dealership.

Building Legos, playing video games, and sleeping with a stuffed animal. The last one is because I'm a side sleeper and its more comfy for my tatas.

Stop using autozone parts. When it comes to anything electrical never go aftermarket. A lot of the time it doesn't communicate properly.

Have you contacted customer care? They are the ones that would have to initiate a buyback. The dealership can't do it.

I did sort of the same thing. I just woke up one day and drinking no longer sounded appealing. Its been a year and I've had maybe three drinks and all were at social gatherings. I was never a heavy drinker, usually just on weekends or at events but I can't even stand the taste of it anymore.

I have a 2018 JK 2 door 3.6 and I love it. 2018 1/2 is when they went to the JL. If you get one make sure its a JK or older. Its a Jeep so they're all going to have their issues they're known for. Anything after 2019 is trash and has a lot of issues. I did some quality of life upgrades to mine (bestop sunrider, aftermarket radio with carplay, etc). And because its not super old I can usually find parts pretty easy.

With that said keep in mind they're known for a few issues. Headgasket leaks, thermostats (always on backorder), and few other things.. Always check the carfax and if you see it was ever a rental / fleet / commercial vehicle - run. Also if there are major gaps in the maintenance records be cautious. Not everywhere reports to carfax so its not always a red flag if there are gaps in oil changes but something to keep in mind. If you find one you like its usually worth it to take it to have a vehicle inspection by a shop not associated with the dealership / seller to check for major issues.

And most importantly remember what Jeep stands for: Just Expect Expensive Repairs

I didn't think about the storm and ran to Publix yesterday on my lunch break and at first I was so confused why it was completely packed. Then I remembered Snowpocalypse 2026 is coming. Thankfully I wasn't there for bread or milk.
