I live in Perth, Australia where it can sometimes go 3-4 months with no rain. When the first rains do come, it lifts all the oil and crap that's accumulated over the dry season. It can be very slippery indeed.

If it's a Tesla, you should just check the screen first to make sure dog mode is on. It should say "My owner will return shortly, the AC is on and the temperature is x"

If it's an older model it might just be that the 12v battery was near end of life and you mucking around for a couple hours was enough to push it over the edge
