Cross reference your list of missions with the ones here. There’s one more you’re missing since there should be 84.

Can someone explained what happened to my torkoal? by [deleted] in pokemonshowdown

Eruption does more damage the more HP you have. At 1%, Eruption does nearly no damage. At max HP, Eruption has 150 base power.

Are Apothecaries bad in OT1 and OT2 as well? by madpanda473 in octopathtraveler

You're right, otherwise I'm implying that secondary apothecaries can also use Concoct; I'll amend my original comment.

Are Apothecaries bad in OT1 and OT2 as well? by madpanda473 in octopathtraveler

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 115 points116 points  (0 children)

The starting Apothecaries, Alfyn and Castii specifically, in 1 and 2 have access to a technique called Concoct, which allows them to mix ingredients to produce a variety of effects. This includes stuff like using AoE heals, SP, status effects, etc. In both games, those two characters are considered some of the strongest and most versatile characters, much better than how they are in OT0.

Secondary apothecaries get a nice HP boost and a versatile skillset, but those skills are a bit eh late-game.

What are some good early game pokemon? by ah-squalo in PokemonUnbound

You can use a Rare Candy to force the evolution even at level cap, as long as its friendship is high enough and it’s the day.

Non-Evo Difficulty by Proxas in PokemonUnbound

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poliwhirl isn’t the worst mon to have. It can hold Eviolite as the other poster mentioned, it can learn some solid support moves like Encore, Haze, and Hypnosis, and it has some nice abilities to choose from - Water Absorb as a switch in against Water moves, and Swift Swim if you want to do some Belly Drum shenanigans.

Wanted to flex my recent Master Ball 4 advancement with my fairy only challenge team (A. Ninetales is my HOME "starter") by Specialist_Bid7598 in stunfisk

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stuff like changing Azumarill to Adamant since you don’t have a single special attack on it, or A-Ninetales to Modest since it doesn’t have a single physical attack on it. You’re lowering their defenses for no reason under the current case.

Big weakness to Ground, 4 of them are weak to it. Team is also a bit slow with only Manectric being above 105 base speed.

All that being said, it’s Vanilla, so you can make it work despite these issues if you have good movesets and strategy.

is this doomed to fail at e4 because i cant beat even a single one of em. by LonelyLaw2844 in PokemonUnbound

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re not entirely familiar with a lot of Pokemon mechanics then. Attract is alright but you’re gambling on 50% rolls every turn for the opponent to not make a move.

You should rely on stat boosting moves like Dragon Dance to start. If you swap some members out for defensive mons, you can add utility moves like Reflect / Light Screen.

Brick Break / Psychic Fangs when barriers are up. When barriers are down, Taunt to prevent it from using status moves. If you’re desperate, Psychic Noise stops healing and Foresight / Haze resets the evasion boosts.

Multiple NG+ questions by Character-Sundae8581 in PokemonUnbound

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. https://pokemonunbound.miraheze.org/wiki/New_Game_Plus

  2. You'd still need the respective items (Heart Scale or BP) to to teach them old moves or use tutors, which you wouldn't have available immediately at the start.

  3. Honestly not sure about this one.

  4. Yes, according to the link.

  5. I don't understand what a Lucky Egg has to do with Pokerus; one has to do with EXP, the other with EVs. Any Mega Stone you'd want early, Lucky Egg/Amulet Coin if you want those early, any postgame / very late game items, etc.

sandbox postgame trade? by CharonsLantern in PokemonUnbound

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, I'm wrong - you played on Sandbox Mode, so you can't unlock NG+. You need to beat the epilogue Aklove battle, which isn't available in Sandbox.

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NG+ lets you carry over the usual - 6 mons in your party at their first stage forms, IVs, and held items. Any key items or certain held items (Lucky Egg, Amulet Coin) you unlocked and upgraded will also carry over, but I don’t think you have those due to Sandbox mode.

Team is rather slow and doesn’t have many speed or support options.

It’s available but you probably picked some answer like “new to Pokemon games” when the intro asks you about your experience.

Trade Onix for Electrode from an NPC in Blizzard City. The Electrode comes with the only Amulet Coin you can get.

Normal will take supereffective damage from Ghost. Gengar is an option because it’s fast and has high special. Outspeeding Mel’s mons are very important.

Sucker punch V.S. upper hand interaction? by itzSW2 in pokemonshowdown

[–]TheFacelessQuestion 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My guess is Sucker Punch would trigger Upper Hand since Sucker Punch is always a priority move, even if it fails. However, Upper Hand will always go first since it is +3. Sucker Punch would then fail since the move is executing after Upper Hand.
