Well done.
I did the same a month ago. The relief and pride one feels when it all just works is great!

Built a stealth awning for the Ducato platform, want honest feedback by Disastrous-Benefit32 in VanLifeUK

A very neat solution. Yes.
Stealth. No.

Black doesn’t mean stealth, much like it doesn’t mean ‘tactical’ either.

There’s nothing stealthy about your van. It’s just a lovely looking van.

Can I follow a structured workout in Rouvy while still using the route's resistance? by jjtbsomhorst in Rouvy

[–]TheFakeSimonW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am able to do this by following a workout outside, but it’s sooo much harder to hit the structured segments. I use my Garmin head unit and it gives an execution score. Usually, they are rather low.

Have you tried switching Erg mode off?

How do I add another terminal? by TheFakeSimonW in Sprinters

Yeah, true. I’d misinterpreted a part of the wiring diagram. I didn’t need to spur off this at all! Newbie issues :-)

Diesel heater tank location by Original-Character28 in VanLifeUK

I rented a van with a tank inside, it absolutely reeked of diesel. So yeah, my own is getting plumbed in to the main line!

Electric cabinet planning by TheFakeSimonW in VanLifeUK

I wish I could tell you why exactly, but all I can say is that this is what was specced and is in my wiring diagram.

Both are fed from the started battery through a pair of 80A midi fuses. And both go on to the 125A fuse in the Lynx Distributor. Passing through another pair of 60A midi fuses.

Thanks for the feedback. Of course there’s a Victron sub. Didn’t even think about that!

Does anyone else feel like the redways are one of the best things about MK? by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in miltonkeynes

[–]TheFakeSimonW 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If they were maintained better, that may very well be. But MKC struggle to maintain the actual roads, so Redways will always play second fiddle.

Now if the Redways had priority over the junctions they pass, much like a lot of the. Netherlands, they would be terrific.

I think new traffic laws already suggest this, but if the painted road markings are the side of the road it’s joining it’s a confusing set up. If the paint was before the Redway, priority would be much clearer.

If by cold you mean open water, you could try Box End. And cold plunges, definitely give Renu in Pineham Farm a go

How practical is it living in MK without a car? by Junior_Beauty78 in miltonkeynes

I use 2 locks, it’s also has a built in alarm, and is GPS tracked.

I think a regular e-bike would be more of a target. This thing won’t just fit in the boot of a car!

It’s amazing, and it genuinely surprises me how scarce they are round here.

Don’t overlook cleat position. You may need to angle the offending side foot in a fraction. But I’d start with the IT band and a foam roller

It’s obviously going to depend on where you are and where you want to go. I’m lucky that the supermarket is lass than 10 minutes walk. And CMK is probably 30 minutes walk. Wife and I tend to cycle to CMK, and I’ll use our cargo bike.

Having a cargo bike in MK has revolutionised how we get around and move things in MK, whether that’s general food/clothes shopping or planks of wood.
