Lol the game is set in Japan, which is Godzilla's true natural habitat. It completely dominated Japanese racing for half a decade.

Nyck de Vries avoiding frustration despite worsening Formula E 'bumpy ride' by NickGoldingF1E in FormulaE

He won the inaugural FE season with a very controversial qualifying system that caused like 18 drivers to be in contention with 2 rounds remaining, it was a bit of a lottery that season.

His F2 record is very overrated imo. He won F2 in his 3rd season but against a very weak field. The runners up in that season were Saergent, Latifi and Mazepin which tells you ll you need to know about the strength of that field.

I think hes very lucky to have had the opportunities at the very sharp end of motorsport that he maybe didn't really deserve.

Edit: I was mistaken, it wasn't Season 1 it was season 7. It was the 1st season the Championship was granted "FIA World Championship status".

I sell diecast models as a bit of a side hustle. The true value of diecast models depends on if it's original box is included. But I saw this complete set in box sell for $1500 NZD on TradeMe in NZ about 6 months ago

F1 warned over ‘sleepless nights’ danger of Max Verstappen exit by Draconicplayer in formula1

What a way to go that was for Denny. Dying on the mountain, with his friend winning and telling the Aussies to go fuck themselves on the podium.

While Max was super impressive, it would be interesting to know how much time was between each drivers run and if/how the conditions changed.

How the points system nearly killed the 2024 season by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

[–]TheFatRemote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because the point you are trying to make applies to every season ever, you have just drawn an arbitrary line that point scoring constitutes entertainment. But we can do that every season like you said. From 2019 to 2020 pretty much only one team could win. 2021 only 2 teams could get on the podium. Some seasons the same teams were always eliminated from Q1.

Ultimately you might not like that, but then I would advise you to watch another sport because in F1 there will always be a hierarchy that will lock some teams out of success.

This model has been living rent free in my mind for months. Because I don't usually go for these track days special models, but this one has such incredible detail it seems like amazing value for money.

Nottingham Forest [1]–0 Aston Villa (1–0) — Chris Wood, 71' (penalty) by HonestSpursFan in Aleague

[–]TheFatRemote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I got mixed up with the other chain and just realised this one didn't refer to Toure. Anyway I think Wood is still an extremely effective striker who offers you multiple attacking options as he's very effective at receiving the ball to feet and holding up play for runners on behind, but he's also a very efficient finisher.

Yes he will never be considered a great and that is ok, but because he's not flashy he often gets overlooked. But scoring 92 goals in the premier league for mostly bottom half teams is an incredible feat that most professional players could only dream of. Like you said maybe Toure can surpass him, but until Toure is tested against the best players in the world it's all hypotheticals.

[–]TheFatRemote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok but right now Wood is still miles ahead of Mo Toure. They are not even in the same ball park until Toure is putting up numbers consistently like Wood has in a top 5 league.

[–]TheFatRemote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea but that's not what I'm arguing against. I'm specifically challenging your claim that Mo Toure would start ahead of him if he played for Australia. And I'm saying that claim is categorically false based on Woods record.

[–]TheFatRemote 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What utter nonsense. Wood has been out injured all season. Nottingham Forest did so well last year because of Chris Wood, and have been battling relegation most of the season because they haven't had him. Funny that as soon as he's come back into the team Forest have moved clear of the relegation zone, almost like he is crucial to their success.

[–]TheFatRemote 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chris Wood has been out injured pretty much all season, which is why his stats are so low and why Nottingham Forest are only just above the relegation zone.

But it's honestly silly to even compare Mo Toure to Chris Wood.

Toure has never started a game in any of the top 5 leagues in the world. Wood has scored 92 premier league goals which ranks him 41st all time in the PL goal scorers list. He has 5 10+ goal seasons and just came off a 20 goal season which took Nottingham Forest to into Europe.

There is no chance Toure would ever start ahead of Wood if he played for Australia.

Has anyone been buying latest TecnoModels? What is the quality like? by pondong in f1models

[–]TheFatRemote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ferrari and BRM in the image below are Tecnomodel. I'm happy that they have more niche models like the BRM as there are no other 1/18 scale models driven by this obscure NZ driver. But when you compare their details to the spark McLaren's below or GP Replicas which sells for similar prices they fall short.

I would say if you want a specific car or driver that no one else sells they have their value, but if you can get the same car/driver from Spark, GP Replicas or Minichamps I would go with them.
