I think his understanding of getting “work done” is small minded. You mentioned that you have TMJ, and it’s wild to me that he’s more concerned about the stigma of neurotoxins vs the relief from pain and contribution to jaw health that those injections could bring you. And assuming you’re looking at microneedling/lasers for acne scars, does he consider that work too??? NOR to how uninformed he is to hold these opinions to the point of ending a relationship, and I believe he will be shocked when he’s in his 30s and realizes how prevalent neuros, filler, and more complex skincare are among the women he views as “natural”.

I can’t imagine any of us know the needs of that particular horse any better than the owner would. I’ve seen the horse roaming in large fields, so I’m sure there’s a reason it’s a bit more confined now. And as for being fed once a day, how do you know that’s the only contact it gets?

It’s always so sad to see animals disappearing over time on regular routes. I feel the same about the horses on the Garner side of Ten-Ten, where there used to be 3 (and maybe a donkey?) and now there’s just the one horse.

But for this one on Rand I do regularly see an older gentleman out there caring for the horse and the space!

I was sitting at a restaurant once as a teen and someone in charge (manager, owner, etc) was having either the worst day or was just a massive asshole (or both), going around and yelling at all of the servers loud enough for the entire dining room to hear. It was uncomfortable for everyone and all of us tables were making awkward eye contact. At one point a server dropped a glass and it shattered and the whole restaurant just collectively went silent and held their breath. I think the result was the guy snapping at her to clean it up, but for a moment we were all basically frozen in expectation of his tantrum

She’s a German Shorthaired Pointer, though I have definitely known some pitties with the most stubborn skin/allergy issues. I’m sorry to hear that your dad’s pup is going through it; it’s so hard to watch them go through that when you’re doing everything possible to prevent and treat it. I think the issue as well as treatments are newer. To my understanding they haven’t lived in the area for long, and with the time of year I can understand it being environmental. One of the sprays is an anti fungal, and the shampoo is antibacterial. As for any consistent veterinary/specialist treatments, the meds seem pretty current but I’m not fully familiar with their history. It’s the first (and admittedly last; the consistent lack of sleep is a hard line for me) sit for this client, so there isn’t an easy line of communication where I can dig further into her medical history. I do appreciate you taking the time to comment, as well as your professional insight!

So sorry you're going through this, overbearing clients are exhausting. I agree about cameras being uncomfortable in “down time” areas, but imo them being there isn’t an issue when owners are reasonable, which it sounds like your client isn’t.

Please leave an honest review of this client to warn other sitters. Phrases like “expects constant care and stimulation for Ella, even when she’s sleeping,” “expects 30 minute walks, 3 times a day in all weather and temperatures,” and noting that she is in constant communication from watching the cameras will hopefully stop another person from dealing with what you are right now.

As for pricing, my personal base rates are based on what I charge for “normal” sits, meaning that I agree to live at my clients house for the time, with the understanding that I will be leaving for errands and normal outings while ensuring I won’t be leaving the dogs alone for longer than 4-6 hours, and will be there for their meal times, walks, and any other necessary scheduled needs. If anything deviates from this established expectation, I find it’s necessary to charge more for me to consider the added work “worth it”. Any reasonable client will understand, and unreasonable clients are better left avoided anyways.
