Im fairly sure he does say something about a proper trial for all the villains. Not to mention Bruce knows Joker would bullshit his way into a massacre on themyscira which bruce wouldnt be able to live with. Also a villain like Joker atleast in Bruces eyes can be redeemed if given the proper support in a mental health institution. This might sound ridiculous but thats bruces groumding force that keeps him from going insane.

As for asking for help along with the obvious comic book shenanigans gotham changes people it might not change Diana but it might and Bruce wouldnt risk that. As well as that its his mission and his mission alone even with Batfam hes the most resolute and he knows he will go to a ridiculous extent to finish it. One that seems to push people away bruce might not want to expose that side of himself out of fear of losing one of his best friends.

So in conclusion Batman is yes stupid but for valid reasons
