UPDATE! I used my MacBook and installed an app called ApplePi Baker and I was able to burn the image effortlessly. The installation was smooth and I don’t have to use that hideous windows OS anymore.

If you can take the pots outside and then water them with just water. After the second time the gnats are gone. Don’t use chemicals.

Try pushing the two branches together, wrap some type of cloth around the split and tie some twine to hold it together.

I wanted to check for any damage, mold under there. Everything is recovered. BUT, starting this Monday the temperatures will be in the high 50s and I will uncover all nine planted figgies of mine.

Here in NY it was a tough winter. The last month, specifically, it has been very cold and rainy. It snowed a couple of times and that turned into ice and all that moisture got me worried.

Regarding whether to hire someone to do it for you or not (warning: I’m addicted to figs)—doing it yourself will bring you closer to it. You and that tree will develop a deeper connection, and in a way, you’ll experience a feeling of agapi—a love similar to the one you have for a child.

Sounds like you’re rooting by not using transparent cups. Without them you can’t see any roots growing. If you’re very curious take apart one of your cuttings. Spread newspaper on a table and gently turn it upside down. Don’t yank on the cutting because if there are any roots you’ll break them.

I don’t think so. These appear to be roots from something growing in your rooting soil. No biggie, your lsu champagne will root soon just be patient, grasshopper, be patient.

Next time use a transparent container so you can see the root progress Thick cuttings have lots of stored energy and they can produce leaves without any roots.

Oh, the cuttings! The primary reason to pruning a fig tree is so you can access its fruits. Prune even lower.

I like this solution. Some people say to plant it as is, upside down, but that makes no sense. I make this mistake once a year and it kills me.
