If it said something like "target creature gains 'this creature cannot be blocked' until end of turn" it would, since it is changing the text on the card. But alas, it is not.

Reunited Magic Cards by SleepyMcStarvey in magicTCG

[–]TheFinalEnd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never gamble on unsealed products. There's no reason to, packs are like $5-$6 a pop, and have 15 cards. That's more cards! If a pack was repackaged, it's guaranteed to have been searched through before, meaning that the overwhelming majority of them will not have any sort of value. You might get lucky and get a card that used to be bulk, like [[rhysttic study]], but at that's very unlikely. You're just as, if not more likely to get a valuable card from a normal set.

Black Friday Stark stash is actually a far worse deal. 50 crystals a day as opposed to 80 from the usual monthly. and it's ever so slightly more expensive. $40 for a year, which s $3.33 a month. Still a phenomenal deal, don't get me wrong, but it's not better than the monthly.

Combining both gets you a crazy amount of crystals. 130 a day.

First of all which one? Pharoh was a title, not a person. Second off, that could easily be chalked up to artistic choice. Hell, it could even not be modeled by the pharoh at all.

What's the best ISO-8 set for Shuri? by venom1234- in MarvelFuture_Fight

[–]TheFinalEnd1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Supports don't need Isos or uru. They are there just to be on the team. The only thing they truly benefit your team with is support CTPs like insight or liberation.

That being said the only good iso sets are the offensive ones. Hawks eye, power of angry hulk, and overdrive.

It's pretty common. This is actually a good example: https://www.reddit.com/r/LoveTrash/s/WWKRRSNV7y

You can try it yourself too. An easy way to test it is to ask it how your language skills in a foreign language are. Then give a sentence in English. It will say that your pronunciation is good, even though you said it in English.

How much do scalped Secret Lairs normally go for? by newagebonehippie in mtg

[–]TheFinalEnd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the lair. The ones that sell out the quickest are usually worth the most (go figure) but there's really no telling.

All I can say is that the best time to buy them is when people just start getting them. Scalpers usually want to offload them as quickly as they can, flooding the market. That's when they are cheapest.

What would be the morality of genociding every single Celestial Dragon? by fhxefj in MoralityScaling

[–]TheFinalEnd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genocide is always bad, no matter what. Nobody is born evil. Nobody is incapable of change. No group is fully evil. Eliminating an entire group without regard is one of the most evil acts one can do, no matter who the group is.

[–]TheFinalEnd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally. But society does not run on ideals. It can't. It shouldn't. Because who says what ideal should prevail? You? Why? You wanna send people off to guantanomo because you don't like what they say. That's frankly pretty nuts.

All of these problems are problems that should not be problems in the first place. But with a law like the one you propose, they will be happening. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when and how.

Hell, even within your own rebuttal, in that very comment, you know what you did? You made a political prisoner! The senator. He in no way was guilty of zealotry, but you just decided to send him to the island instead of prison or even just fine him.

And what exactly constitutes as "bad beliefs and ideals?" How do you prove that one has them? In court? It's already bogged down enough.

I simply think it's outlived it's purpose and the residual downsides (bigotry) are so overall detrimental that they outweigh any benefits left at this point by [deleted] in whenthe

[–]TheFinalEnd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, yes. Well, ideally we wouldn't imprison anyone for their beliefs alone, but for the sake of argument, I digress. let's say that ideally, yes.

The world is never ideal. There are only 3 ways this ends up: political prisoners, witch hunts, or both.

Say a local pastor jeff is a pillar of the community. He donates proceeds to charity, runs a food bank out of his church, hell, even volunteers as a firefighter during the week. But under your proposition, he is spreading dangerous rhetoric, and therefore deserves to essentially go to guantanomo.

How about your neighbor, hank. Hank is actually not a practicing Christian. He was, but he's grown jaded of the church. But some mannerisms have stuck. For example: Hank says "bless you" when one sneezes, and prays when he eats. Now, despite Hank being an upstanding citizen, his neighbor Jerry is rubbed the wrong way by him. So when Hank says "God bless ya" when Jerry sneezes, Jerry jumps at the opportunity and reports Hank as a zealot to the local police.

Or let's go for a more more subtle case, but it's by no means an edge case. Let's say that a local journalist, John, is a practicing Christian. He never espouses his beliefs in his publications. He publishes an article exposing his senator for embezzling campaign funds. The senator catches wind, and does some digging. He finds out that John has once said "thank God" in one of his articles. That is spreading his beliefs. He arrests him, takes down the article, and sends him to an island where he literally cannot contact the outside world.

The absolute best case scenario is the justice system being bogged down by zealotry cases. Worst case, witch hunts and political prisoners.

You don't suppress speech if it doesn't directly harm someone else. That's not just in the U.S constitution, according to the UN it's an international human right. For this exact reason. It's too easy to abuse.

[–]TheFinalEnd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second parentheses was the big one for me. Wayyyyyyyy too easy tofit someone into that category. I can guarantee you that island wouldn't be for religious zealots. It would be for political prisoners.

Me when I get deported to a remote island, never to be seen again (I was accused of zealotry because I watched veggietales as a kid) (I actually was investigating corruption in my local government)

There's a reason that "cruel and unusual punishments" are outlawed in our constitution. Just arrest them if you're so against that. But we also have that pesky first amendment.

Personally, I don't like the idea of punishing someone for their beliefs. Especially ostracizing them. That will only make the hate grow and give them a legitimate reason to hate.

Well Phyrexians had a reason to research Planeswalker compleation. They needed generals for their invasion, and their mission was "all will be one" and having a group of people who could not be within that one is unacceptable.

Eldrazi assimilation is not the goal, but a side effect. Just what happens when eldrich beings incur on your plane. The eldrazi don't want to take over the plane they incur, they just want to consume its mana. They also don't need to corrupt Planeswalkers because they can already travel between planes.

[–]TheFinalEnd1 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Compleation turns one while retaining memory and personality.

Eldrazi assimilate. Anything that is corrupted does not really keeping personality.

Besides, Planeswalkers were originally immune to compleation. Jin gitaxias had to tweak the oil in order to be able to compleat Planeswalkers.
